http://www.carltonfc.com.au/tabid/4311/Default.aspx?newsid=59711 Great to read that some of the boys are building interest outside of football and this is a step in the right direction. Quote: Andrew Walker, is exploring the possibility of establishing a city clothing store, to extend the family’s country clothing store chain.
Great for Tex but I didn't know that the Walker's were in the Rag Trade. ![]() Take a look of Carlos standing next to Ashman sans shoes. ![]() |

A credit to him for doing the course and to the other players. He just better put in tomorrow night and make a contest out of EVERYTHING even when sitting on the bench. ![]() |

What type of assistance does the club provides for the players to complete their apprenticeship, placement or financial? You'd think only the young players and not the veterans and established players would need help getting started. Great scheme though. budzy wrote: Well done to all the boys including Ashy and RP of course.

It's great to see all players getting opportunity. Baiting me may not please the mods too much at the minute BlueIce ![]() |

A credit to him for doing the course and to the other players. Huh??? I was under the impression that the management course is for his benefit, not the club's. Credit should go to the club for encouraging this sort of thing and encouraging players to think about their long-term future. I mean it's great that Ackland and others are doing this course and realising that footy only takes the first 30 years of your life (35 if you are lucky) and there is still a lot more to life and that's good but let's be honest, it's for the players' benefit and the club doesn't really get anything out of it. So why should Ackland be credited for looking after his own self? ![]() ![]() |

There are many things that players have access to that they don't make use of, he could have quite easily have avoided the course, but he chose to take it. And it benefits the club, when players have a balance of footy and outside interests, rather than just footy and getting into mischief when they are bored. So stop being a pest Nick. ![]() |
