I must say, from the brief sessions I saw at the AIS Draft Camp I thought Leuey was streets ahead of Kreuzer. Leuenberger just looked so svelte, skilled and, yeah, Dean Cox, was exactly the player that came to my mind as well. Whereas when I saw Kreuzer I was expecting so much and my first impression wasn't crash hot.

Thankfully, though, cometh the hour, cometh the man. What Kreuzer has already shown us this year is more than I could have ever hoped for. And like Voss says in his article, it's more than pure stats will ever show.

It's fair to say I still rate Leuenberger very highly, but from what both guys have shown so far, Kreuzer looks the far more composed and settled with the title of AFL footballer. He's still young and has a lot of development, physical and mental, ahead of him. But who here doesn't reckon Kreuzer has the potential to be an all-time great...

Hit the nail through the hand CB - composure in their early games of football is what stands out for me between K-Dogg and Leuey - Kreuzer is just so damn composed, settled... I was spitting chips when we didn't get Leuey, but now I'm stoked. 8)

Therein lies the problem.......................people placing too much emphasis on the draft camp.

That's a good wrap from the Gold Coast's first coach.

As long as he doesn't rate Hammer all that highly, I'll be happy.

You have to remember the same was said about Josh Fraser and Michael Gardner when they went number 1.

Krooze looks the goods and his second efforts are great and i think we have a good player here.

One thing that worries me is how desperate we are for a ruck contest that we have this kid going up against big strong mature bodies crashing into him week in week out.

I agree with you to one extent Melvey, we need to protect young Krooz. I hope we can bring Jacobs in as he has the body strength to compete with the bigger guys, and play Krooz in the ruck against the younger lads. Hopefuuly we could get Ackland to retire with Pratt gving him a golden handshake to make room for Jacobs.

In relation to Gardiner, he flowered himself. He was a great player. Krooz in the game against Essendon* and Brisbane, showed what a great player he will become. Much more than any other ruck has shown. He will be the best ruck/midfielder of all time (not to put much pressure on him), if he is managed correctly.

That play in the 1st/2nd quarter when he got the clearance from his own tap, busted through, left the opposition in his dust, kicked from 55 but just missed was evidence of what this kid will become, that should be a NAB Rising star nomination just for that
