Having an arguement with a few blokes after watching fox sports news on the weekend and they were showing highlights of the 99 State of Origin between Vic and SA, and they show who i believe is Stephen Silvagni running and taking a 1 handed mark running towards goals, with nigel smart on his tail. Now you can't see exazctly what number it is but it did have a 4 in it. The friend i was arguing with says its Nigel lappin, as the scene before in the highlight clearly showing Nigel Lappin with the number 44 on his back. Can anyone rectify or help at least a little.

It may have been 24.

I remember him wearing 26 one year.

I have a recollection of him wearing 24.

Why wouldn't he have worn the number 1?

What other player would have been playing for the Vics who was more senior than SOS?

Number 1 was always reserved for the Captain IIRC.

Dale Weightman wore it for years.
