Ripper article.

Love it!!

Great news and great to see Diesel back at the club.

As a footballer, imagine getting tips from Diesel. Well done, Greg.

I think we all knew this after seeing him working with Walker on Anzac Day.

Great to see another legend back at the club.

Good Article interesting he suggests it's easy to be tagged when you are a receiver and he thinks Murph doesn't go in and get the ball enough

Better to be a giver than a receiver

Can I ask how great that pic is of my Smurph and Diesal?

Sends a tingle up my spine.

Hope he teaches Bentick to dispose of it quicker from the bottom of packs. That'd help his game significantly.

what about this for a quote:

Quote:
"I remember talking to (Scott) Camporeale about it too. He was way one-way. He was killing 'em on a wing and then they stuck someone on him. All of a sudden he went from 25 (possessions) to eight.

"Then, after a while, he even started tackling and everything.

If there has ever been a bloke who knows how to find the pill and give it out Diesel's the man!!! Still my all time Fav!!! Maybe he can pass on how to really deal with taggers whilst he is at it!! Some of the fairies going around today would be sh1tting a brick if they had to line up on Diesel!!

Was a bit disappointed in the article after reading the headline.

Deisel will be a positive down at the club even if it just for his presence and giving a few tips.

The man was a football genius and it can often be the case that genius really has no way of being taught. It would be interesting to see how much he can actually convey in the form of real teaching and how much simply cannot be taught.

He's a wealthy man. The pay from doing 1 session a week would be minimal. It would make him a paid club official and thus under the auspices of the AFL. Smart guy Diesel, keep himself away from that.

I am worried about Judd's wellbeing. Ignition is not pleasant when you are on the receiving end!

You're right Jars about not being able to teach genius.

But I reckon our young onballers can learn a lot about attitude from Diesel. His singlemindedness was/is extraordinary. He had the killer instinct. He had mongrel. He had tenacity. And he had confidence. He also thought deeply about his game.

He can make footballers into better footballers, if they want to be.

People think Diesel is arrogant. But what he really is is brutally honest and incredibly blunt.

A good influence for all those namby-pamby GenY footballers coming through the ranks.

100% agree with all of that. Also, in terms of teaching I was happy to hear him say himself that he's trying to teach them how to kick, handball etc..

Diesel's genius (in addition to being perhaps the most skilful disposer of the ball I have seen) for mine was his vision and seeing the play unfold before anyone else around him did - I doubt that's something you could teach anyone else, it's inbuilt. But the basic skills of being a good midfielder are something he could easily pass on.

Great stuff.
