So can you remember the last player to have worn #46 for Carlton before David Ellard?

Here's a hint....he was a rookie who was later picked up by Richmond.

Overall, there were 7 players who have worn #46 for the Blues in senior battle. Some only played in that jumper, some, like a ruckman of the 1990's, started here and then moved to another number.

How many can you name?

I like these kind of threads.

Unfortunately I had to cheat to get the answers

I hope young Dave keeps the number and makes it famous :)

I had to cheat too

If I was Ellard I'd hold on to 46 - won't take much to be the best #46 in club history.

I wore #46 when i played for my local team :-D

As for Mark Porter, never realised he wore the 46 guernsey. I remember Adam Pickering, but none of the other guys.

In over 50 years of watching the Blues I can't recall anyone of note wearing no. 46

Bit of trivia about Andrew Graham - his one game came on the day Bruce Doull played his 300th v Melbourne at Princes Park. Ricky Nixon also debuted that day.

I didn't cheat and I reckon I have it! He was a major dud, got more game time at Tiges than he ever got at Carlton...his recruitment was almost the final nail in Frawley's coffin...can I post the answer?

You are correct, but there is a twist.

This was not actually Doull's 300th game, it was his 297th, there was a mistake somewhere along the line and it appeared as his 300th in the Footy Record and even on the banner.

His real 300th game was in Round 19 of that year, a 100 point thumping of St Kilda.

Interesting - I remember that there was discussion at a CFC trivia night about John Nicholls games tallies and someone suggested that they had once included State of Origin games in the tally, but then removed them later (or the other way around?). Is this right?

Shall we check with the guru?

Already checked.

Exactly the same issue as Nicholls.

Doull's official games tally for Carlton was reduced from 361 to 356 because of State games.

Tim Fleming did not play a senior game for Carlton and is not included in the list.

FYI -he also wore #41:
