If Carazzo can improve his disposals, I think he has the potential to be like Sam Mitchell. They both have very sure hands and gets in the right position, but the key and most fundamental difference is Mitchell's disposals are always sublime & Carazzo's still dodgy & no where near Mitchell. I think Carazzo's potential is there, but it is up to Carazzo to now work hard to really improve his disposals. Eddie betts has improved his disposals out of sight from his 1st year with us (Eddie was the leading clanger in the league in his first year!) so there is potential for Carazzo as well! |

Carrazzo has been around for longer than Eddie. His workrate and ability to find the ball are sublime - but his touches just don't hurt the opposition. He might have 10% that lead to something, but that's not much of a strike rate.... The vast majority of his possessions go sideways or backwards and of the 40-odd last night, only the handball receives - when he ran around the back of a player who had taken a mark or won a free kick - went forward. Interesting to see Olarenshaw ask him if he had an opponent. He knew damn well that he didn't - and for the period that he may have had one (3rd quarter) he was less productive (although, equally as effective). There is no comparison b/w Carrazzo and Mitchell. |

his kicking will never get better even if it does, he no where near Sammy Mitchell. Carrazzo is our Stanton. Other clubs don't rate both and et them win the ball cause they do nothing damaging with it. |

I can not stand it when people infer a comparison between Carrazzo and Sam Mitchell or indicate that Bentick is some sort of good footballer. The distance between Carazzo and Mitchell is light years. Mitchell is the best in an under player since Greg Williams. He wins the hard ball and his disposal off both sides is second to none. Carazzo is neither as strong adn his disposal is sub AFL standard. Carazzo is a great reader of the play and can win the ball but its down hill from there. Bentick is to be admired but gets found out against top midfielders. On what I have seen this year give me Hadley anyday. There is a reason why Hawthorn is a premiership contender and our supporters need to confront the fact that the likes of Carazzo and Bentick, while valuable now, are not good enough to take us deep into September |

He does need to improve his disposal a lot though, because even getting 40+ touches, he wont be good enough to take us into September, as has been stated. |

I think what people don't appreciate with Carrots is that he deliberately aims for easy targets on the field so he doesn't get exposed for his skills ==> a man's gotsta know his limitations and he is well aware of his. whilst it is annoying, at least he's not turning the ball over at the rate he was a couple of years ago. Bit unfair on Stanton too ==> he has been tagged a couple of times this year, and his kicking, whilst hit and miss, at least has genuine penetration. |

Mitchell is elite, up there with the best. Carrazzo's a good footballer but elite he'll never be. |

I see Carazzo as a mop up man. When on song like friday he get himself around the contests wins the ball then gives it gives it to a sweeper or gets a quick fifteen metre pass of to a player so we can set up. When his his on song his hands are clean and his chip passes are not as bad as some make out. The handpass gameplan all clubs are into will help him. When he is off the boil like earlier in the season he is very frustrating to watch. When he is like that he should be swung back to the back pocket where he can take a small forward to the cleaners. Dont compare him to Mitchell. You will sleep easier. Compare him to mcglynn. |

someone just needs to tell carrots to drop the ball on to his boot with one hand insted of two. His kicking technique is like a 5 y.o. kid trying to kick on his non-prefered. As long as he continues with his current style it will always be a hit or miss as he doesnt guide the ball onto his boot. |

Mitchell is elite but Carrazzo is a nice Indian to have in the team amongst chiefs like Judd,Stevens, Murphy, Gibbs etc..... You wouldnt get a more consistent player than Andrew Carrazzo, rarely plays a bad game and for a bloke who we got for nothing who has a B& F I think we should be very happy with his efforts... |

Brad Sewell was on before the game, he said the hawks had a specialist kicking coach from the AIS who is a freak. Sewell said his kicking was a major flaw in his game and if it weren't for this specialist coach his career would not be where its at now. |

Mitchell is a GUN. His disposal was also suspect when he first hit the scene but it has improved immeasurably. His kicking is now elite. Carrazzo will never reach that unfortunately. His kicking flaws appear to be irrepairable. Still, he is a must in our side and his ball winning ability is all class |

I was thinking the same thing when I was watching before the game 'send Carazzo to him'. I think Carazzo could develop as a run with style tagger, inthe Kirk/Ling mould (however still nowhere near as good.) |

But thats the thing Elwood, we are always ready to piss on our own and covet players from other teams. Given that Carrots and Mitchell don't play int he same position, why not compare Judd to Mitchell instead? |
