This week, there's No Judd Kerr Priddis Cousins, Hurn Hunter and possibly No Cox. Before we all back ourselves in those old enough will recall a day at Waverley. A final no less. The Cats had 3 late changes. Bews, Bruns and Bairstow - all out. Easy we thought. We didn't WIN!! |

I'd rather the time we beat Essendon* with three or four big outs. |

' Yeah, that was great win. The greatest Carlton backs to the wall' win. Round 3 2001. Essendon* were all conquering winning the premiership and beating North by 85 points, I think, the week before. Hawthorn pumped us the week before so we were down and out. No Bradley, Silvagni, Kouta and Allan had been injured for a while with his foot (never the same after that). Our coach and Campo were unbelievable that day and Fev - a fringe player then - kicked 3. Poor Lance was fat and struggling too, but rose in the last quarter. Dermott Brereton described it as Australia 'A' fronting up to the 'Invincibles' and getting over the top. Simon Fletcher dobbed one outside fifty after taking a screamer. I don't think he ever took a mark like that in his life nor had ever kicked that far before. It was unbelievable. What a win! |

Remember Bruce's shock like it was yesterday "Fletcher has marked it! Fletcher of Carlton has marked it" |

I thought it was Bairstow Couch and Hocking Pretty sure Bruns had retired by then and Bews may have already been in Brisbane. |

AAron Lord absolutely destroyed us. ( Which he did every game he played against us) |

didn't brink Kouta on until very late in the match, he kicked a great goal running out of the middle - too little too late |

You're right, it was Bairstow, Couch and Whiskas. Great opportunity for our first win on the road in 4 years this week. |

Bairstow, Couch, Hocking > Bews, Bruns, Bairstow. |

I'm at least a little bit certain that Mansfield didn't play... But Bairstow Couch and Hocking is probably right. Maybe it was 4 players... |

Regardless of who they have in their team I wouldn't think anyone would be crazy enough to predict an easy win to us on their home turf. I would like to think we have a chance of pinching it but West Coast still big favourites in my book. |

I remember that day very well, I didnt think we would win as we just seemed shot from the previous 2 weeks, even with the 3 late Geelong withdrawals. To me that hurt more than 93, because I believed our side was better in 94, and still had that memory of pumping the Eagles only a few weeks before hand. Good thing we tinkered our game plan for 1995 (not so Diesel focused) and the rest is history. But that side should have pinched another flag between 1993-96. |
