I don't mean to add to the negativity but there have been some lowlights at the sacred ground.

* Milburn's performance (in fact the entire game - the only time I have ever felt sick leaving the ground after a win).

* The shellacking by Port when Tredrea took about 17 marks.

* Richmond beating us and knocking us out of the finals.

* That game against West Coast when we were ahead by about three goals in the last five minutes and managed to lose it.

Losing to Adelaide the week after we beat Essendon* on that Friday night in 2001.

St.Kilda demolition job by 94 points. Many Saint supporters left wooden spoons around Optus Oval that day.

Milburn hitting Silvagni.

Probably a stack more for the older heads to post on.

Oh how could I forget those mongrels leaving the spoons Phoenix - the nerve of St Kilda supporters!

Also John Elliott being introduced after having the charges dropped and expecting us to applaud him as a conquering hero a la Nelson Mandela.

- Malcolm Blight (90 metre  ) kick after siren in 1976.

- Stephen Easton heriocs for North Melbourne (I reckon around 1978) so we end up recruiting the dud.

- That game against "The Bumbers" 1981 - Daniher, Ian Robinson, Fitzpatrick.

- 1989 game against the Brisbane Bears - where Capper kicks a 45 metre goal and they win - Robert Walls sacked that evening.

and kicked 8 goals, as an 18 odd year old, and then dislocated his knee and missed the next few months.

man we were canned in that one.

the milburn game we flogged the cats all day and fev kicked three cheap goals in junk time in the last, but seeing porter, ratts and sos go down made me feel sick.

Getting smashed by Footscray round 1 1989. What a horror story that game was.

StKilda massacre in 2003. Worst performance by a Carlton side at Princes Park I've ever seen.

Being up by 6 goals over Brisbane at half time, and then they ended up caning us by 10 goals or so.

Waite's first match (I think), played a gem in the first half on Aker, even managed to get Aker dragged.

The game Waitey played v Melb after his old man died. Don't think there was a dry eye in the house. Although I hated losing this one it did get us Walker.

Was at that one, don't think it was Waite's debut but was Norman's.

One of the most amazing football matches I've seen, I remember we lead 50-16 and about 30 minutes of gametime later the score was something like 95-61 to them! Was astonishing to watch the Brisbane performance once they woke up but I remember thinking 'how good's this' when we led by 34 points! There was a 111 point turnaround from midway through the second quarter and they ended up winning by 77 points and when Brisbane started to play it was one of the best exhibitions of footy you're ever likely to see.

Rd 1, 1990.
40 points up against the Swans at half time & we're all thinking we're on the up.
Then they came back & won, lead by a dominant little shit called Greg Williams

The loss to Syd in early 2002 by 78 points.
The sight of a Carlton side being booed off by Carlton suporters really was terrible.

The loss to WCE in time on, mentioned by another poster, mainly because I had a few too many at the footy, got the train home & woke up in Boronia…

The day Ricky Mott debuted, I believe.
Tore us a new arsehole that day and destroyed the McKernan/Allan combo.

Harry falling across Sean Charles' leg in the 1st qtr of the first match (forget the year...I'm pretty sure it was at PP), snapping it in half, and effectively ending his career.

That was actually Mark Porter Kouta - & still to this day is a contributing factor to why I can't stand Porter. Even though it wasn't intentional, I had high hopes for Sean Charles.

Brent Heavers broken leg was pretty bad too. I was sitting at the players race & could see the bone through the skin, it was foul..

West Coast game as mentioned already, there were tears at the end of that game, just wonering what more we had to do to win a bloody game.

I don't miss many carlton games but 2 that I did miss were the Milburn game (due to work) & the game against the saints as mentioned above. That was the night of Andrew McKay's testimonial so I was prettying myself up - yes it took all day ok!!!
