Morning,

I've decided that today is a good day to take my 4 yo son to the footy as Grandma is coming also :)

I've already bought a reserved seat for myself and Nanna but can't find out if it's ok to take the boy if he sits on my or Nanna's lap.

I've tried looking for an answer to this question on the web and all I can find is that he gets in for free as he's under 6 but no clarification as far as seating in AFL members is concerned.

Any answers before 12pm when I leave would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

If the AFL Members hasn't been fully pre-booked I think he can get in for nothing and sit on your lap.

Have you applied for your son to be an AFL Member? If so, I think he can get a 'baby' membership card. It costs nothing but allows you get him a reserved seat for the cost of the booking fee. This won't help you today but would in the future. Contact the membership dept during the week.

I have previously taken my little one with me and she was around 4 and they let me take her with me if she sat on my knee. (However this was not at the MCG).

Word of advice: Take a few snacks with you or otherwise it will cost you a fortune to feed him.....

What an awesome day! Took the little man to the footy and it was the perfect day. He was a bit distracted at times but soon figured out when to yell "Go Blues" and "Go Fev"

Today he's wearing his newly purchased Eddie Betts badge to day care and won't stop singing the song.

We are moving to Bendigo in a few weeks so probably won't get too many chances to go to the footy but I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to the Blues for him.

Many thanks for the clarification to those who replied.

Normally wouldnt have taken my 5yo to a big crowd game but a Filth mate wanted me to take him because his son wanted to go. Best day of F-S bonding ever.
He waved his flag whenever I cheered. After cheering adefensve mark or tackle he would stand and wave his flag. I tell him "Not now, thats not a goal, sit down" "But you cheered. Can you clap only for goals"

2 toilet breaks, 3 juice boxes, chocolates and skittles.

He got the sing the song for the first time ever.

On the tram home, my Filth mate's 4 yo son says, "This is the best day of my life" The look on my Filth mates face when he heard that was worth the 14 losses that came before this mighty win
