As Ratten has stated on numerous occassions he is building a Carlton team to be finalists.

Being 0-3 and with our next games against Collingwood, Melbourne, Adelaide,WC, Brisbane, Fremantle, Geelong & Port the reality is we could be anywhere between 0 and 4 wins by round 11 effectively leaving us out of the finals for this season by the half way point.

If we are then serious about developing our side that I believe is the point we need to make some serious decisions on our list.

For me we need to get games into our kids and decide on the future of the others.

A SQUAD along the lines of this needs to be played.

B: Anderson Jamison Bower
HB: Grigg Setanta Walker
C: Simpson Murphy Stevens
HF: Betts Hartlett Waite
F: Ellard Fevola Kruezer
Foll: Hampson Judd Gibbs
Int from: Fisher Jacobs Armfield Browne Hadley Benjamin Edwards Jackson Joseph Bentick Austin Houlihan

We have to accept that guys like Bannister, Wiggins and Scotland will not be traded as no one will want them. It will be up to MC to decide whether they can fill a ROLE in the team in the future.

Cloke will stay but for me he needs to show he can fill a key position because he is not a front line ruckman. He has been exceptional since arriving but if Hampson, Kruezer, Jacobs step up he will find it hard to get a spot.

I am worried about Aisake, to me he just doesn't fit in.

Stevens, Fevola and possibly Thornton (although I am not a fan) need to keep playing as their experience is invaluable and they need to keep playing well as they may be worth trading at years end. Some people may not like it but if the right deal comes along that will improve our side then we must do it.

Kruezer, Murphy, Gibbs, Grigg, Anderson, Hampson, Walker, Anderson, Waite, Judd, Hadley and Jamison are the core of what our next great side must be built around.

I have high hopes for our kids and would like to see them get playing time together. It will do them a world of good that if as a group they can go from bottom to the top together. If they can they will be a very special group!!
