YEP, thats right, im off the tanking bandwagon. I still maintain and insist that the best thing that culd happen to our club would be to finish the year on 4 wins and getting the PP but the writing is on the wall from now...the AFL are planning to sabotage us and give the Gold Coast franchise the top 5 picks in this years draft. The AFL are toying with the idea for now but i am certain that they will implement the Gold Coast entry to this years draft ESPECIALLY if we do qualify for the PP. Nothing would piss me off more than winning just 4 games this year but getting picks 6 & 8 instead of 1 & 3 all because the AFL wanted to sabotage us. COME ON BAGGERS...GET SOME flower WINS ON THE BOARD!!! |

That sounds like Bollocks to me - what if these kids want to play AFL next season? The best kids in the draft can't but the lesser ones can? We are doomed, the competition is doomed. We won't win another Premiership for ten years at this rate and even that's doubtful. ![]() |

Good one GAV, as a former non-tanker turned tanker turned non-tanker I fully support your flip-flopping. |

Dont get me wrong guys, i would rather us get the PP but i can see the AFL shafting us this year. Imagine being Natanui, getting snapped up by the Gold Coast and not playing till 2011!!! WHAT A JOKE!!! |

it seems like an awful misallocation of resources on the afl's part...but i spose the definition is a priority pick...so itd still be taken before the draft proper. and since we qualify via means outlined and implemented before the gold coast team we would surely, from a legal point of view, qualify for a priority pick before them... either way i hope it doesnt come to that and we comfortably win more than 4 games. |

Agreed, quite often those picked in the top 10 are a good chance to gain AFL experience in their first year....how would you feel as a draftee if you were farmed off to play in the AFLQ, QAFL (?) for 2 years before the possibility of making your AFL debut? I can see them getting concessions in 2010, but certainly not the next two years. |

The Gold Coast team will get access to 15 yo kids this year and then 16 yo kids the following year etc. etc. They will get priority access to younger kids that will be nurtured in TAC, SANFL etc until they were ready to be drafted. Oh by the way I am sick of us losing. |

![]() Tanks very much! ![]() Jsut start winning Blues FFS!!!! ![]() Well Hampson is out of contract this season, so 3 year contract would hopefully bypass the uncontracted player clause that is being talked about. |

![]() How long has natanui been playing footy? He's the last bloke i want to pick up if he is another athlete we turn footballer.... They are begining to change the way they are looking at players come draft time, it seem they want footballers that can kick a footy now. |
