We were so spoilt for choice... I think I have a pidgeon pair - Fev getting taken out by not one but two (2) Essendon* players in a marking contest and then fairly bumping MM and getting done for it.. I'm thinking Demitriou was none too plussed by our decision to go Navy Saturday night and sought retribution via the field umpires (even the boundary umpires got in on the act, re. the non OOF Waite should have got!) Who else has got one? |

I like the Dons forward going for the towering screamer some six minutes before acceptances, and several metres wide of the flight, taking out our backmen and the ball spilling to a crumbing goal. Since when has that been play on???? atrocious. And closely followed by the sweetest back line tackle by Houlaahan and another and the guy throws the ball away - play on - goal. And don't get me started on the touch 'Mathew and you pay' rule the maggots pay without fail. It's in the chapter under knee bending diving. I think young Angus has been reading the same rule as well. Disgraceful. |

Indeed. Hard to go past that one for sheer idiocy. |

Hille taking the ball from a ruck contest then getting tackled without disposing of the ball twice. No free. The others are bad interpretation. Very bad. This is just rule ignorance |

The Eddie Betts decision was a disgrace. The Scotland decision before the first bounce was as soft as you'll ever see. If this is the new standard there'll be a goal scored before the opening bounce in every game. Agree Buzz re: Hille. As a paying member of one of the 16 clubs I'd like a public explanation as to why that rule was not policed on Saturday night, an apology for the amount of momentum it cost us and an assurance that it will be correctly administered in the future. |

So many it's hard to split them I really enjoyed the 50 metres against, Bower, Fisher and Jamo. Then Kreuz takes a mark and gets belted in the head and no 50! The Betts tunnelling was top shelf comedy. Fevola could be anally assulted and he'd get a free against him for backing in. Ratts should have a winge and then unreservedly apologise. |

I was directly in front of the Betts decision and can confidently say it was the worst decision I have ever seen. A 5 foot nothing bloke stands still under a 6 foot 7 bloke who jumped into him 3 seconds too early and gets pinged. In terms of abject stupidity that decision has lifted the umpiring fraternity to new heights. There's simply no way a reasonable person could look at what happened there and make that decision. I can appreciate it's a difficult game to umpire blah blah - that contest was in total isolation with no other player nearby. The umpire was well positioned - in other words there is simply no excuse for making that call. It's decisions like that which prove definitively the umpires are holding this game back with their ineptitude. I might not like the way the game is going, but the umpires are killing it and I can't believe every year we are subjected to a buffoon like Gieschen trotting out the same homilies and pathetic excuses which treat the viewing public with contempt. meanwhile there appears to be no apparent pressure being placed upon him or his team of geniuses to improve their basic decision making skills. Who knows how many outcomes are decided by this? The umpires will point to the scoreboard and say they aren't directly impacting on games but momentum is a powerful thing and there were so many occasions where the reason for momentum shifts resutled from the whistle blowing. Incredibly frustrating. |

Why that wasn't a report from a late spoil is anyone's guess. |

Worst umpiring decision was the three of them deciding to turn up for the match. |

I think they paid it against Betts because he looked at Fletcher instead of the ball; nothing to do with actually taking out his legs. ![]() |

![]() Even so - he stood still and watched as Fletcher jumped early and into him. What midget wouldn't look if a bloke twice his size was going to jump into hinm and stick a knee in his head? If an umpire can't use even the most basic discretion in those situations they simply shouldn't be out there. |

It's no coincidence we played our best footy when the umpires put their whistles away in the third quarter... |
