Was reading the Footy Record from Rnd. 1 and in the interview with Ratten it states that he has created five leadership tiers. It reads...

Apart from the five man leadership group, Ratten has also instituted groups for emerging, developing and establishing leaders, and a group of role-model leaders (Ackland, Bannister, Houlihan, Saddington and Wiggins).

Anybody have any knowledge/information about this? How it was setup and/or works?

I have never had any problems with BO

Enough about my identity, anyone got any thoughts on the topic? I too was surprised to see who the role-model leaders were. I wonder where others on our list fit into the leadership groups?

Well I would have thought this was a way of developing leadership qualities for most of our list. In terms of the role model leaders - 4 out of those 5 guys are known for preparing and training extremely well and are definitely a shining example to the other guys on the list how best to prepare yourself (Ackland I'm not so sure about).

Emerging leaders you would assume involves Murphy, Gibbs, Hampson etc. Seems like a good system to me to give everyone a feel for it and develop leadership qualities. Everyone who takes the field should be able to take on some leadership roles.

Carlton, like many other clubs, has employed the services of an external leadership consultant, although it is not Leading Teams, who are involved with a number of other clubs, including Geelong, Port Adelaide, Sydney, Adelaide and Hawthorn.

Might have been their initiative.

Hoops, Banno and Wiggins may have got the gig because they train hard and prepare well for everything they do.

Ackland may have got it in a bid to make him pull his finger out and do something besieds walk around the change rooms with his top off.
