When do you think Ratts is going to win his first game as coach?

We got St Kilda next week which is in form, if we can't beat richmond then it doesnt look promising.

Its a bit early to tank :)

i just hope we're not in the tanking situation again this year...i'm sick of finding it hard to enjoy us winning. Would love to win 5 games by about rnd 12 so we can just sit back and enjoy the boys playing

no chance against St Kilda.
maybe against Essendon*.
sadly the signs were blatantly obvious in the practice match against the Bulldogs at PP, that is, this team is still very very bad. They fell over the line against the Bulldogs and got smashed by Richmond (both rubbish opposition and no chance of making the finals).

It will probably take until the 5th round approx for us to get up to scratch. It was obvious tonight that Stevens Judd etc were under done and that we had no ruckman.

Yes and Benjamin. We take ages to blood our player unlike every other club.

Neither of them have been in full training for 6 months.
Would you like us to give Bernie Evans a run as well?

im actually not as concerned about winning footy games as im concverned about playing with a style that is effective...and that in turn will manufacture game wins....
i cringed alot last night....
remember who we were playing... the opposition get harder from this point on...

i would like to see anderson come back into the team (is he injured?) - think he will add extra toughness and speed that was clearly lacking last night

We are a 1 trick pony going forward - Kicking it to Fev at all costs just doesn't work. Need to find a CHF.

Backline is the worst in the league.

We have a long way to go.

the carlton list is full of duds.
turnover kings. terrible skills. no fitness. can't tackle. an absolute rabble that got smashed by the worst (well second worst) team in the league.

I just think the team was underdone for the game. Remember last year the guys pushed quite a few teams and probably should have won at 4 of those matches. That same team was out there tonight with the inclusion of 3 solid to outstanding players in Judd, Stevens and Hadley.

We'll get better. It might not be next week, but things will eventually click. I think Ratten would have learned a lot about himself as a coach last night.

Don't give up hope guys. It's only round 1. I didn't have finals on the cards this year but improvement from last year. We've nicked wins against Richmond the last 3 or 4 years so we were bound to get beaten tonight.

St Kilda next week is a formidably task but who knows what could happen.

Don't give up!

I think they play Fev one out in the goal square in the 50m zone all by himself.
And if a 2nd player is dropped back on him, put the carlton player on him 30metres away from Fev 45metres out sitting there all alone.

The player dropping back either leaves a carlton player open in the forward line or double teams fev.

Simple logic u would think hey? Dont know why Pagan.Ratts let other teams double team fev when a simple solution is to do that.

I was disappointed but not gutted. Didn't think we'd win anyway with our ruck stocks as they were. We will be better for the run...probably open our account in 2 weeks.

I for the life of me I just cant understand why Saddington wasn’t playing last night, even if he was picked on the bench, we talk about the weakness of our backline, a game we had to win and you leave him out, purely madness in my book.

Gee, I've heard it all now. :?
Saddo is a great bloke but Jamo has gone miles past him.
He doesnt have the physical capability to play key back.
