Not too worried...upset with the belting but the SHAG is back!!! That is the Fevola that has since had a one on one with Pagan who would have set things straight for him...

The way I see it...vs Hawks (for 3 quarters) and vs Tigers we struggled in one area...that is, our forward structure has gone all out of wack without Fev...think about it vs Tigers in the first 1/4 we had 13 Inside 50s to the tigers' 16 and they kicked 7 goals to our zilch... All that says is we were not efficiently moving the ball to a forward target...Lance was playing to deep and we virtually had no CHF....Fev is so important to our structure and I really do have a feeling (as proven last year) that we are going to persistently fight out the win vs Cats come Friday...by the way it is the 13th...and Carlton has never lost a Friday the 13th game EVER!!!

Going to be tough.

Our confidence is shot to pieces, we've come off a hiding and our best midfielder is out.

Would love to see Fev stand up and shit all over Geelong.

I hope we DON'T bounce back. It just generates false hope. We have a long way to go and we need to recognise and accept which team is the real team. Then we need to be patient.

We managed to do it last year every time.

No Stevens to deliver it to Fevola.

Geelong by 53 points.

Come on, 300-400 points is surely more likely?

I want to win
I really do
But can not see it happening
Geelong are a way better side than we are at present.
However I will still watch it on fox at 9.30 P.M in my lounge here in Sydney town with my Blues scarf draped over my shoulders
Go Blues but I think the Cats by 25-35

The Head says: looks like we'll play the non-scarred youth. We'll be competitive. Kouta will play a slashing game, but the Cats should prevail easily.

The Heart says: they are so embarrased they will go all night, and the injection of youth will make us unpredictable and vital. Fevola kicks a bag, smashes Scarlett and the Cat's limp down the higway JUST LIKE '95!!!

Hope the head's wrong.

No disrespect CS but if you don't watch the footy hoping for Carlton to win (whether a realistic hope or not) why not just opt out of footy for a few years and check back again later?

I would love for us to beat the cats, just for the sake of gaining some confidence back after such a demorolising and lacklustre performance.

However I can't see how we can beat the cats if our players refuse to man up and play some accountable football especially in the midfield. The cats midfield is sensational and has depth, they have a number of rotations in there and if our players refuse to work hard both offensively and defensively, then i think we will be exposed again.

I am going along Friday night and all I want to see is a Carlton team with pride in the jumper and players willing to work for each and having a real dip at the contest. Is that asking too much?

Ponkstar, I can support the team enjoying their development / evolution without expecting a win, without expecting a finals appearance etc. All I want is a team that competes and is headed in the right direction. I can take losses if I'm seeing positives. How about you?

I said nothing about expecting a win - I said hoping for a win.

Can you not see any positives in beating a top 4 team?

Surely if they can beat Geelong there will be some merit in suggesting we are not as terrible as last week suggested.

Like I said - I watch every game hoping to win, even if I know we are realistically unlikely to. Otherwise, to use a Paganism, it's like dancing with your sister, pleasant enough but unlikely to lead to anything much more pleasurable.
