| Post subject: | I want the 'PAIN' back! |
The last 6 years have seen us down, out, punished and pulverized. I hate losing. Like you all. It is that sting that never goes away and stuffs your whole weekend! Redemption is always just a week away. It hurts until at least Wednesday, when we really start focusing on the following weekend and our chances like our spirits are suddenly uplifted. When we were a strong on field club; I do not know about all of you, but the sting of losing, the pain, the agony that that one loss would bring used to be unbearable. We would cop ribbing and phone calls from any loss. We did not lose. Hardly, anyway. We went to every SINGLE game expecting to win. Tanking or damage control was not even thought of. This year, our year of rebirth, solace and redemption, one thing I want more than anything is the sting of losing back. I want it to once again hurt like hell! I do not want to leave the footy with a smile after a loss. I do not want to settle for blooding kids, and honorable losses. No damage control or tanking talk. All I want is Carlton, full throttle, win at all costs mentality. Let them hate us again for all the right reasons. GO BLUES! |

I want to look forward to the monday paper and seeing "Blue Skys" as a headline and not "Feeling Blue about things". I want to go to a game and expecting to sing the theme song twice. I want to be able to call my mates and give them shit. I want to ride the train after a match and when strange people asks who won, i want to scream out "THE MIGHTY BLUES". I want to go home after a match and watch the replay of the game. I want teams to fear playing us, and not rejoyce. I want tune in to SEN and here Richmond, Collingwood and Essendon* fans complaining. I want to watch the brownlow medal and during the count, i want to hear..."Round 12: Carlton flex their Muscles against xxxx. Gibbs, Judd, Murphy and Stevens starred again, Fevola kicked 8". I want to win 3 games in a row. I want to win, without being an upset. |

Oh well, I don't know about any of you - but I felt the 'PAIN' last night... in recent years the first match of the season is when it hurts the worst, so many expectations - especially this year...

Seriously guys, you know what I mean... We are not used to this sh!t! So many glimpses last night. Of quality, real quality.... Not from the Ump's mind you... A four quarter effort that sees us demoralize and destroy, is only a few games of match fitness away........ |

Well Linchy, it's Wednesday and the PAIN is NOT getting any better. Flower footy sucks sometimes. I just wanna destroy something, you know - like take a hammer to a 'cruiser!
