| Post subject: | Could Libba's idiocy be a turning point for us? |
Could we almost find ourselves THANKING Libba in a few years time? Hear me out. Since his stupid comments on TFS the response from the Carlton community has been amazing. The sheer fury from a group who for so long have been forced to sit in a corner and keep quiet, and FINALLY the club's powerbrokers (softly) telling the football world we're not going to be [REDACTED] with anymore. Not to mention the support we've received from some very unlikely sources in the media and on talkback with regards to this, almost as though it's a joke that's now gone too far. How will the players respond? Will this be like Hawthorn "drawing a line in the sand"? Could this be the final straw for a bunch of young blokes who have been way too nice up until this point, and up until recently have continually suffered beatings both on and off the field with no option but to say "Please sir, may I have another?" Will those Carlton people still yet to buy a membership also feel that this shit must stop, and contribute to earn the right to say "I am Carlton, @#$%&! the rest"? Will our team stand on that dais, holding aloft that 17th cup, and collectively exclaim "@#$%&! YOU LIBBA!"? This could turn out to be a real turning point for our future. Anyone agree? |

Yes I agree. This is what I posted on CSC earlier today. All true blue supporters step back a moment and think about what this libba thing has done for you and the club. Yup it has further added to the momentum in bringing us all together as a united band of supporters, players and club administrators. We are on the march again as old Carlton used to be, with an air of superiority We are starting to hold our heads high and giving the rest the two finger salute We are singing our club song and we are going to kick ar$e. My first instinct when I saw and heard the dwarf make those crazy baseless allegations based only on opinion was "when the @#$%&! is this bad shit about Carlton going to stop" - then I took a breath and thought more about it and saw the light of day that nothing will come of this. I'm sure there are many folk that are still peeved at the dwarf and TFS, so to answer your question, probably yes, this could provide some impetus for something big. |

We tanked that last game to some extent. i didnt want Carlton to win. Why would you We tanked the game against the bummers to some degree as well.Why would you take Fevola off. We got Kreuzer We got Judd We got what we want by losing the last whatever number of games. What is the big flower deal You would have been mad to think we tried 100% I actually think Libba is right to some degree His motives are because he is a bitter and twisted man out for revenge because he is coaching Sunbury and not in the AFl because he is a shit coach. Why didnt he say all this in October rather than 7 days before the season. Just change the rules AFL Ratten can justify any move or selection but the bottom line is we didnt want to win those 2 games 100%. If you believed we did your a moron. i also thought of this same thing, that maybe this was the boost our boys needed to get even hungrier to win games this season. it must hurt being told that you go out to play not wanting to win so that has to fire them up some way. even if it is very small it might help just thhat little bit to get us over the line in 1 game this year. another way in which this might benefit us is that the afl changes their bottom 8 draft pick order to a lottery system. i doubt we'll finish last or 2nd last much longer and we're much more likely to be finishing in the 9-10 area this and next year. if we're lucky we might even score another no.1 draft pick or even a no.2 or no.3 which we wouldn't have got under the old system. |

I thought the thing that would stick in the player's minds more would be an ex-assistant coach saying that he didn't think they deserved to play a game, when all of them showed enough positives to justify their selection. Hopefully it makes them even more hungry to prove him wrong. |

The support has definetly been suprising, a real sign of the fear rising... In some ways this may boost the players confidence as well as I'm sure many of them would of thought that they were worse than they are..... |

I agree....Patrick Smith jumped on board the Libba bandwagon with his price fixer/match fixer theme but has been left holding the baby after Libba backed down and I was amused at Smith pathetic attempts to keep the issue afloat in his article in the Australian.....the AFL dont care about Libba and no one appears to care what Patrick Smith writes.. Been a good test for the relationship between Greg Swann and the AFL and I think we have Swann to thank for being able to defuse these issues with Demetriou and it proves they have a good relationship unlike Paul Roos and unlike John Elliott who probably would have see us get investigated and fined.. A lot of positives for the Carlton football club and none for the treachorous traitor Libba.... |
