Greg Denhan in The Australian wrote this...

Quote:
While Nick Stevens is considered a certain starter despite a minor neck problem a fortnight ago, the Blues will also be without Brad Fisher (thumb), Adam Bentick (groin), and Clinton Benjamin (groin).

Carlton chief executive Greg Swann said Stevens trained brilliantly last week after his hiccup with a neck problem, which was not related to a spinal injury that kept him out for most of last year.

Bentick has not played a full practice match during the pre-season, while Benjamin, 19, is considered a strong chance to line up in the opening round after a solid pre-season.

So Benjamin is injured, but is a strong chance to play ????

Keep them great articles coming Greg.

His neck wasn't the issue, only his blessed knee after playing at the chrome.

Quality sports journalist in Australia are few and far between, and unfortunately most of them seem to write about sports like Cricket, Boxing and Tennis rather than AFL.

AFL journalism is a disgrace filled with journalists who are either sloppy and unknowledgable, unethical grubs who'd do anything for a story, or journos who could name every CEO in the AFL but couldn't tell you the name of the captain of Fremantle.

Spot on mate.

Caro is vindictive and doesn't understand the game. I don't care who her uncle bob was/is.

Patrick is an obsessed fatso who thinks he is witty when he's in fact just tedious.

Mike is predictable and simple, probably only uses 500 words in the English dictionary. His articles are the equivalent of watching Neighbours.

Denham is clearly on drugs if he thinks the injured Benjamin who's not available this week, will possibly debut this week.

The list goes on.

You're giving them too much credit. They are NOT journo's.
A journo is an impartial reporter of the facts.
These guys are commentators and muckrackers.
They are after ratings and newspaper sales, so to be controversial and first with the story is their aim.

Unfortunately for all of us, they actually do change public perception , even if they are wrong.... It's the blind leading the blind.
