Hypothetically, with juddy on board, Mitch gone from an assistant coach and a fit Stevo back, would you have the same sort of optimism heading into the season?

With the talk of new teams coming into the competition, Sheed's and Denis have put there prospective cases forward to coach again.

I find it interesting that they keep pointing to blokes like Sven and other EPL coaches being well into there 60's, along with NFL counterparts, as people managers capable of sustaining success. But our game is unique, very hands on for a coach, like no other.

Parko back in 2000-01 gave us insight into a team manager, allowing Britt's to coach and gain experience while he was still the 'head' operator. Can these elder statesmen now survive in the game?

Surely, Parko, could still have some role to play, if he wanted to in today's climate?

What do you think guys?

Denis wasn't the right fit.

If he was still here we'd be looking at another year where young players are taken from the ground for minor mistakes then dropped for weeks, where players are rewarded with the captaincy for turning up terribly out of shape, where the gameplan is to kick the shit out of the ball at every opportunity and hope for the best, where players don't seem to give a crap if they win for the coach or not and where fans can't see any advances in the team as a whole or individually.

But ..from what I hear....Denis couldnt relate to the younger guys...so couldnt get their respect...

Geeze I ripped into him on the Herald Sun website feedback , a couple of weeks ago...when they had the article about him wating to coach again.....they emailed me and told me they printed my article....and I forgot to buy a paper up here...( they arent in every newsagent ) bummer

They wont get another gig....

Voss will coach the Gold Coast team....i reckon....

Bet he's spewing he didnt take us on...with Judd there now....

Denis was a disaster from day one.
He is an autocrat and a his dictatorial style of management is widely dislkied by the players, assitant coaches and administrators.
With Pago at the helm we would not have got Judd or Hadley and we would not get the best out of players like Stevo.
With Pagan there and all our new additions (hypothetically speaking) we would end no better than 14th.

Pagan is gone and now I can see the "Blue Skies" he crapped on about

Camel, to get where you are going, you still have to know where you are coming from.

The past is history, you learn from it and move on.

But saying what you did, would mean the 16 flags previous are irrelevant?

Good riddance to Denis.
The only good thing about him making a comeback to coaching is that it won't be with Carlton's young list.
In a few years time (still under Ratts) we'll be saying "Denis who?"
