I have been harping on for weeks about making more changes to the side than the injuries automatically require. The side needs refreshing. Some players need to find some touch in the magoos. Some need to be elevated to see what they can do. 2 to 3 changes only each week and usually due to suspension or injury is rewarding mediocrity. Surely DP's patience must be running out with a number of players. I think that he needs to shock them into reality. POPO (Perform or Piss Off). Its obvious who needs demotion, but who to elevate? I reckon those who he thinks will be on the list next year first rather than the Clarkes and Bowyers etc. So here goes again. A few shocks here, but it will be worth it.

B:.............McGrath............Thornton..........Norman

Can't see 1/3 of the side changing.

Agree Deluca and Longmuir need some time in the seconds, like your ideas also.

Cant see any benefit in haveing T-Lo in the side ahead of Davies. Give me Davies just to create the occasional contest. We need some hard bodies in just to stop opposition brushing us off like flies. Clarke, Bowyer and McGrath will at least let their tackles stick. Maybe Bentick too. The senior players have all been fairly comfortable this year. Shake em up a bit. If that means dropping them to the 2s so be it

I would agree on Troy Longmuir..while he takes a good mark for his size I dont see him offering anything else..can he play other positions?.
For mine he isnt hard enough and I dont see what Denis sees/saw in him apart from being related to his more talented sibling....

Trent Sporn does some good things and has impressed me with some brave plays but doesnt get enough of the footy ...I would prefer Sporn over Longmuir though given the choice...

Interesting side, only disagree with Norman. And I would have Bryan and Setanta rotate off the bench

Yeah, I reckon that's fairly good. Prender would be the one I'm least keen to drop

Whateva the side is next week I would start Whitnall at CHB......Sporn, Longmuir, Davies..what does it matter ..all peripheral players.
I would have both Bryan and Deluca in the same team....Deluca will play better up forward with Fev back and less heat on him....
I would try and rotate Senanta and Bryan at CHF and see who does best..as long as we have a big body contesting I will be happy..someone who can take a mark and who isnt only 190cm.
French needs some back up and Bryan should be it.......
Include Bowyer, Clarke, Mcgrath and maybe even Russell.......good to see Chapman out injured....
I want a taller more physical team for Geelong.....at least try something new and lets rotate some players......Freo have tried something different with Mcpharlin down forward lets show some imgination.as well..maybe Thornton down the track could be tried forward if things dont work..not this week but maybe later on down the track if the season is falling away...as John Kennedy said in one his famous half time speeches " dont talk" " do" or something like that...

With some new players, fresh positions for some, we are a chance...

I dont want to see Milburn, Mooney etc bullying our player either....fly the flag you senior bigger players and give it straight back.....Bret Thornton you are exempt because you are the only one who does look after his mates....

Nice ideas and observations Elwood. I agree with need a bigger body at CHF, good to see Deluca when playing forward in the last quarter crash the pack causing a spillage. That's more of what I want to see. We need people who want to create a contest, none of this pansy, ball-watching crap that the senior players got up to on the weekend.

I find it amazing that the Hun and the Age don't see that the problem was defensively, all they care about is the 32 possessions that Camporeale had, the 30 possessions that Stevens had...

How many times did these guys (and Scotland and Koutoufides) chase? How many times did they run forward and man up a Tigers loose man?

Agree with Elwood re: flying the flag; I think Teague is to some extent another in the back half who does fly the flag.

On historical form, not just the Richmond game I think Longmuir, Bannister and Sporn need to rethink there form in the ressies. Carlos may make way for Fev.

Other in's include Russell, McGrath and Bowyer.

Close to chop would be Whitnall, Prendergast and Wiggins who has fallen away the past two weeks and needs a good one against Geelong.

If Carrazzo comes up, then drop Wiggins.

Wiggins needs to stay put. He's one of the only few putting in a decent effort.

Sporn on the other hand should've been dropped weeks ago. Longmuir should be dropped too.

Is sporn injured, trying to do something he can't or severly down on confidence...he just doesn't look like the same player this year
