http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl/story/0,26576,23323666-19742,00.html From the HUN: Ratten said, while Stevens reported neck stiffness, scans have cleared him of any serious damage to an old injury, a prolapsed disc that needed season-ending surgery last year. "If we were playing this week, Nick could probably play," Ratten said "The other side of the coin, he's got an infected knee from Telstra Dome, where he landed he got a real big scar and it has blown up a lot, that's probably the other side of the coin why we won't play him." Ratten is confident Stevens' neck complaint and infected knee won't keep him out for round one. |

Sorry the reason I posted the above was because it was almost word for word the information I received and shared in the previous threads. No doom or gloom, no worries about a career ending injury. It was a reaction to a shot he got at 1/2 time, his knee blew up - his neck was no different to waking up with a sore neck but there is no discomfort now... it's just the swelling on the knee that was the issue... The threads were closed due to too much... yeah. |

The info was fine, it was the retirement speculation that was the problem. And, yes, I remember who told us that. Thank you. ![]() |

Seems to me we recently have more of a tendency towards pissing contests and bluster instead of sharing information and ciil debate in this forum. ![]() |

When we hear that the player is concerned and upset at baseless retirement speculation, wouldn't you agree that it is in everyone's best interests to just move on. Hence, our reason for locking/removing the previous threads. I accept that this is similar to the countless threads we have that are critical of a player's performance, however, in this particular instance I think it was the right thing to do to make some attempt to stop that rumour spreading further than it already had. Now, can we move on. Please. ![]() Any further questions on this matter, please send me a PM. |
