so now we're aff to Alice Springs for this dumb AFL initiative. What a load of rubbish. yes its wonderful that the AFL want to grow the game etc etc, but seriously how can making clubs travel to remote places requiring them to take long plane flights and all the crap that goes with travelling be good preparation for the season proper. at this point of the year clubs should be refining everything and in their final preparations for round 1. it should be about clubs having the ability to get their players ready for the season. the advantages gained by having a hit out against another side in a practice match are far outweighed by the disadvantage of having to play in remote areas on cow paddocks. hardly the ideal preparation. they should tell the AFL to get stuffed and just play intraclub games, or organise their own praccie against a like minded club. up yours AFL. I hate you. |

Good points Cranium. Why clubs are forced to organise their pre-season the way the AFL want them to is a joke, and wrong. If both Carlton and WC refused to go to Alice, I wonder what the penalty would be? But whether it's the Alice or Princes Park doesn't really matter; surely clubs should be able to plan the way THEY want to. The AFL, and commercialism, while good in a number of ways, are terribly horrible in so many other ways. |

As I've said before, the pre-season cup can only be taken seriously if you win it and collect the cash on offer. Even tennis draws are designed with a higher level of fairness. Play on after rebounding off the goal post... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

The whole preseason comp is a farce. The proper season should start next week. |

The proper season should start next week. Just remember that the 'proper' season is also a farce, because teams don't play each other the same number of times. |

I think people would be pretty happy if the season went 8 or so months with 5 to 6 "breaks" in it. One month off on holidays (like most of us jokers), 2 months training and straight back into it. JUDD! too many brews btw. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Bullshit! Easily the best rule in the NAB Cup. Should be introduced in to the season proper. |

Hits post, ball bounces back into the field of play, team loses... A WORSE kick would have scored a point, and scores would have been tied. I repeat, a WORSE kick would have tied the match. No bullshit here. |

Hit the post, and rebounds back in to play; game ends in a draw/extra time. Fantastic rule. |

after the siren - if a ball hits the post and goes through the score shouldn't count because it is "play on" if the ball hits the post - you cant play on after the siren - so it shouldnt count i bet the m(*&*($& at the AFL never thought of that |
