Ok here the arguements for it:
- Blues = NSW (a match made in heaven)
- Pratt will not be around for ever
- We could become the most popular team in Australia by gaining support of over 50% of Sydney and still have our strong Carlton family
- it would mean The Blues will be around for generations to come as we have corporate support/AFL support
- We don't play at our home anymore and development will be completed in West Sydney and we will have our own home ground again where opposition teams can fear us.
- Will become the most marketable team in the AFL
- More free to air opportunites in Melbourne
- Get out of Princes Park because the residents don't want us there anyway
- AFL are putting pressure on Melbourne teams to re-locate or fold
- We will get a larger salary cap than everyone outside of Syndey because due to cost of living

We could make this work :-D

We don't need to make that work.

In two years time we will have state of the art facilities at our state of the art spiritual home.

And the dollars will be coming in thick and fast with more big projects on the way, and because we will be belting teams with some regularity....

If Carlton moved to Sydney for the money (and it would be for nothing else) then I would never barrack for them again.

AFL finished and may as well return to suburban footy.

They're called Carlton for a reason.

I second that. If Carlton moves to Sydney, I will no longer follow the game. It can't happen, and it won't happen and it will never happen.

even with the prospect of a home game 2 1/2 hours away every second weekend, I wouldnt want it to happen.

I'd be shattered.. I'd love it all the same, but i'd be shattered if you know what i mean.

Won't happen - not in my lifetime.

they'd wanna be pretty big wheels a turning if they are indeed, turning!!

We've shown interest in Sydney before. Back in the early 90's Elliott was driving the agenda.

Did everyone read the backlash about the expansion in today's papers? Melbourne clubs are not happy at all.

Teams will disappear in Melbourne with a 18 team competition and we are currently riding the Pratt wave and as with all waves they do come to an end.

The only way Carlton would ever be bigger and stronger than WC, Adelaide, Collingwood and Essendon* is if we find a huge supporter base that we can tap into and then the cashed up corporate sponsors cannot ignore us. We are currently a charity thank you to one man.

We are now in the AFL not the VFL. It is a national league and we cannot ignore that fact. Having supporters from Carlton and the northern suburbs is not enough to guarantee a long life in the AFL. We also have an old supporter base and we cannot replace the old with the new from the next generation coming through.
