Hi all

I have just re-located to Auckland for a few years. Are there any other Aucklanders on the forum?

If so, what is the AFL coverage like on Sky? Any particular bars you go to to watch the games?

I don't think you said it K1w1 enough...

"Are there any other Aucklanders on the forum?" should be "Are there any other Aucklanders on the forum, eh?", and "If so, what is the AFL coverage like on Sky?" should be "Is the AFL coverage on Sky choice, bro?"

In the past Sky have shown one game a week live, normally at 4pm on a Saturday (i.e. a 2pm game in Melbourne). We play four games in that timeslot this year, so hopefully all four are shown. The weekly highlights show screens on a Tuesday night. Come finals time coverage is much better.

Cheers Timmy D. That sounds ok. Sky is pretty s*it over here (unless you like that game where they run forwards but throw the ball backwards!!??)

Bunks I moved to Auckland 18 months ago and the coverage is indeed sh*t. One hour of footy highlights on a Thursday night and one game a weekend (very rarely the Blues last year) is not quite enough :(

You can pick up the radio via Internet, as so many other international Blues fans seem to, but as you may have found the Internet connections are less than reliable too.

I'm seriously considering installing a flowering huge satellite dish to try to pick up the Australian free to air channels. Apparently the same satellites are use for Australia and NZ, bu there's some code difference that makes it more difficult. I need to find a technogeek to explain it all to me in words of one syllable.

Otherwise you can always rely on TalkingCarlton to find out what's going on!

Cheers mate - oh well, one game and highlights is better than nothing, which I feared when I first got here.

Drop me a line if you get that satellite dish up and I'll pop round :-D

Otherwise you can always rely on TalkingCarlton to find out what's going on!
