I have posted this on Big Footy as well but it will be announced before Carlton's season launch in a few weeks time. Judd will be the Captain of the club with Nick Stevens Vice Captain and perhaps a surprise with Marc Murphy named a Deputy Vice Captain which is interesting as he is not even in the leadership group.

Excellent choice.

Go Blues

Cheers Marc Schmurf 3... but sauce???

He, he, he... just jokes! Thanks for sharing the info, and I am sure you are spot on. I've always said I would be 100% amazed if Judd wasn't captain. Stevo was the obvious VC choice... and congrats to Murph if he gets DVC... although I think Simpson has every right to feel a little harshly done by if he misses out. Nonetheless, all good moves by the Club. Thanks for the heads up!

Good tip on Murph
(...the rest is hardly inside info is it??)

Thanks though

I thought the playing group voted on the leadership group & then they will vote on the captain from the leadership group?? If they didn't vote him into the leadership group I'm not sure the club would make Murph a DVC.. Oh well, we'll wait and see I guess.

Personally, I wouldn't be disappointed if he was voted as DVC but I'd prefer that he slot into the team as the 3rd midfielder & enjoy himself for a little while.

I would rather give DVC to Simmo and let Murph just play for a couple of years.

While it's true you don't need a name to be a leader, I think Simmo has done more than enough to earn the title and be recognised officially as a leader of the club.

Simpson would my choice as captain.....been great in the games he has led the team and earned plenty of respect..
I'm less inclined to give to it Stevens or Judd who are not home grown players....

We shouldnt blame Stevens and Judd for their past sins. They have now seen the light.

Who out of the three is the most likely to lead us to another premiership? A premiership captain.

I think that Judd as captain and Stevens as vice captain is what is best for the club by a mile.

Murph as vice captain i am not sure of.

I agree that Simpson should feel hard done by after the efforts he has shown thus far, however i am not at the club and don't see everything that goes on, so i place my trust in the club which no longer gives me reasons for concern.

Thanks for the info MF3.
I for one would have liked to Stevens get the job but i'd be happy with Judd. Murph as DVC is interesting, would have liked him to have a few years with no formal duties and just play footy. Simmo would have been my choice instead of Murph.

He's the best man for the job.

I don't subscribe to the Simpson or Murphy theory. If Judd is comfortable, and the players are happy to be lead by him, then it should be a done deal.

If you give it to anyone else (maybe bar Stevo) they will play with the knowledge that the #1 leader at the club is not actually leading the club.

It doesn't take too much time to appreciate Simmo's character and leadership qualities IMHO !
