I read in the Sun this morning that Fevola has decided to part ways with his current manager, Paul Connors. Fevs contract is up by seasons end isn't it? Should we be reading anything into this? :?

Connors is Judds manager aswell IIRC?

I wouldn't read anything into it at all. I'm not sure why Fev would need a manager. He operates a successful restaurant and will head into that area after football...all he really needs is a good accountant and I'm sure the rest can take care of itself. Connors probably takes 5-10% which in my opinion is a little steep for the amount of work that I would imagine go into Brendan Fevola.

I've got a mate who's been playing professional ice-hockey in the NHL for 13 years. He had a manager in his first 3 years. Once he worked out how the negotiations were done - he hired an accountant - took some classes in property management and the rest is history. He's represented himself every year since - gets his wife to help him out with the sponsorship and appearance side of things and this guy is not the sharpest tool in the shed either. In 2006 he negotiated and signed off on what will be his last contract - 8.5 million over 3 years, a no-trade clause and bonuses.

If I was going to be Fev's manager I'd want 5-10% as a minimum - with all the fires Fev creates that need to be put out.

Don’t know the reasoning behind Fev’s change in managers however I do know one thing in that is if Fev wants to be paid some serious bux (800k, 900k per season)by the end of the year he will need to kick more than 85 + goals for the year and leave the childish behaviour behind in the past.

I reckon if he kicks 100 + goals he can earn just as much a Juddy can! 100 + goals will get us in the finals therefore more money to the club.

Marketing wise I believe fevola can be just as big as Judd!

From the outside it appears as though Connors is a good operator, so this move from Fev does raise a few eyebrows, at the very least.

Maybe he needs someone who can pursue other sporting avenues.

I doubt he would represent himself.

As Connors also met with Alex, perhaps she is taking over the running of the Shag's business from 2009.

Same.

A good manager should be worth 5-10%.

Akermanis used to reprsent himself. Turns out he was poorly paid.

He'd be crazy if he didn't look into it.

I wouldn't think so.

Ben Graham and Sav Rocca not doing as good as whats been made out to be.

Really, don't seem to be doing too bad for AFL standard...

Fev could at least have had the decency to tell Connors in person rather than SMS.

Alex will be managing him moving forward.

They earn twice what Fev does.

Wasn't Graham's postion in serious doubt next season. My mail is he will have a kick off with a young rookie and that he doesn't stand a chance (correct me if I'm wrong).
