Because if he gets them right he's set himself up for pretty much any sports administration job he wants in the next 20 years. It's a challenge and if he wants to take it we should support him.

Some of you on here are pretty stupid in relation to this. He's not leaving to become football manager of another club. He's leaving to be CEO. It is a big step up. Also if other clubs want our staff it is a good sign. Look out at the end of the year to see a rush of clubs trying to sign Wayne Hughes.

He's worth keeping. But he wants to be a CEO. He can't be that here for obvious reasons. We'll get another top football manager. However, what scares me is that anyone else heard rumours about GT being footy manager .

Will be said to see him go, he along with Swann represents the new professionalism of the Blues.

BO, believe me Pelchen is NOT someone you want at your club. Hawthorn have picked up a nasty rep with other clubs when trade time rolls around - due largely to Pelchen's antics.

He's got a public profile because he runs to the media with scuttlebutt at every opportunity (eg telling everyone Carlton offered Thornton last year), but he's not popular with other clubs.

Is it a good career move? Steering a sinking ship never looks good on the resume. Better to wait for a proper job. Even Eugene Arocca's move to North is different. They have some passion behind them esp with Brayshaw and the Gold Coast as a safety net. Melbourne are just humdrum

There has to be someone that gets it right - it's a case of whether you look at it a glass half full or half empty!
