Is it me, or has carltonfc.com.au improved out of sight in terms of information and updates. Prior years, we would not have seen footages of new recruits, or have up-to-date information on press conferences, etc. I used to refer to Herald Sun & Age for updated Carlton news, but now, carltonfc.com.au is my first source!

anyway, welldone to the team at carltonfc.com.au. keep it up and keep us members posted!

definitely, i think since swanny has come the multimedia aspect of our club has improved out of sight. everything from membership brochures to backdrops to the club website is looking almost as appealing as our playing list.

"Investing in the business" is a wonderful thing. I know the previous admins had severe financial concerns, but having a well structured entry point to the Club is essential to provide information and allow for communication with the members.

From a single resource, Steve, who had to manage the site (and manage Telstra) plus his other Communication jobs up until late last year, Carlton Communications now boasts 5 representatives and Steve has 2 specific resources on the site. One of them is a TCer but I don't know if they are trying to keep it quiet (No, its not a Contributor). Add to that is Tony DE Bolfo's contacts and love of the historical articles, which I am pleased to see he is writing under the Blueseum banner, and the site is vastly improved.

I wonder if they still need Mike & Dan?

A great improvement - the number of CFC TV grabs on offer is amazing.

A pity we can't view them when living overseas.

Not much to add to what molsey said but it has been great to see how concerned the guys at the club have been with respect to serving up a better online product to supporters. They actively found out what we wanted on the site (by reading threads here and elsewhere and also asking advice from from outside).

The extra resources have made a big difference to the site. It was an absolute mess at the start of this year and gradually much of it has been fixed.

The CFCTV is a great highlight (thanks to a TC'er) and Tony De Bolfo's Blueseum related articles have been fantastic.

If any of you overseas TCers want to watch CFCTV your best bet might be to ask a techie from TC to upload the videos to youtube for you (not me).

Hopefully they have learnt the lesson of not posting drafts of articles prior to the announcements.

If anyone wants to get the clips to me I'll happily upload them. That way I can see them as well, seeing as the performance of CFCTV on Mac is flakey at best.

Of course we still need Mike and Dan!

I reckon the strength of our website is the varied content, thanks to various volunteer contributors (except the ghost, he's rubbish :P ).

Having said that, I still reckon Mike and Dan were better when the had the egg logo!

Glad to hear of improvements to one of the most important communication tools the Club has at its disposal.

One thing I suggested via PM to a board member (who did reply and advised he would forward my suggestion on) for Season 2008 and even this pre season was looking at a way of providing panoramic / 360 degree pics and also virtual tours of training and match days etc.

Obviously there are some things to consider and it is just a basic suggestion.

Some examples of what I think we all, and in particular kids would enjoy viewing:

- 360 degree pics whilst the guys are training
- 360 degree pics during warm ups before the game
- virtual tour of our facilities
- virtual tour of change rooms pre games etc
- coaches box pics

Just a few examples, and obviously much to consider but I thought at the start of the year that something along these lines would be a basic point of difference for us as well.

Can anyone explain why overseas people are excluded from all telstra content? I'm in the UK and couldn't view the videos of draftees, it said I had to sign up to bigpond. Kinda pointless really, even if it weren't for the fact that I've had to deal with Telstra in the past and will never, ever buy an internet connection from them again, but I'm pretty sure they don't offer connections in the south of England.

They charge something like $60 a year just to view the AFL videos for anyone overseas. So it is not an internet connection, just access to their videos.

Yes, it is ridiculous.

Why do the WSPA ads have to be so graphic??
Reading about the blues is a bit of an escape from the horrible aspects of life such as cruelty to animals. Too invasive IMO.

You would have to tell AFL/Telstra about that, AFAIK CFC has no control over the ad content that appears on the site, it is all served up by the AFL/Telstra.
