It was reported on Channel 10 sports news that Andrew has become a dad to a son (future father and son) on Australia Day. He is still in Melbourne.

Congratulations to Andrew and his partner Kylie on the safe arrival of Cody Jay

Also congratulations to DOA on becoming a Grand-Dad

Twenty-one year-old Walker is now just 26 senior matches short of his 100th for Carlton, and who knows? . . . maybe one day Cody will uphold the old man’s tradition.

A very big congrats to Andy and Kylie on the safe arrival of their son.

Congratulations to Andrew and DOA.

We're going to have a nice dilemma in 20 years when Cody is drafted as a father son but won't be able to inherit Walker's number 1 guernsey as it will be taken by one of the Silvaigni boys.

Imagine the even more exciting thought of 1AW blossoming to such a star that the Silvagni boys have to fight for Kouta's old number as Cody is a lock for the #1..... :)

when the first silvagni arrives walks will probably still be around so he won't get the #1. i'm not 100% sure on their ages but i think it's most likely that the 3rd silvagni will be able to get the #1 as walker will probably vacate it by then. i'm really excited about walker having a son too he's probably got the best genes to pass on and good to see he's passed 'em on nice and early. hopefully he can give us 3 potential stars as well.

Only 3 dads on our list....
AW, Fev, Saddo

I believe there are only 3 married on our list..

Wow does really show how young the guys are - but a lot more mature than the likes of me at 21! (or maybe even at 44)

:?

Congrats AW and DOA (GDOC)

Massive Congratulations to Andy the star!

Hopefully it pushes him to greater heights with the added responsibility, and the fulfillment that comes with being a father...

Big 2008 for 1AW.

Is he eligible?

Congrats to the Walkers, that's great news. Nice name too, quite similar name to my nephew, Cee-Jay!

Not talking out of school I hope but one of the first things Andrew said to his family, after Cody's birth, was he only had 26 more games to play to make Cody eligible for the Blues under the F&S rule.
Now that is the attitude we need.
Congratulations to Andrew and Kylie.

Don't think I've seen this link posted anywhere (though I might be wrong). But here's an article in the HS about Walker being a dad.

Interesting quote however from AW that it seems to him that Judd really wants the captaincy.

http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/common/story_page/0,8033,23130777%255E19742,00.html

Quote:

Walker said Judd was the man for the job, despite reservations about the former Eagle being appointed captain in his first season.

"For starters I didn't know if it was the right thing to do, him coming into the club and taking the position. But after getting to know him over the pre-season, he has grown on everybody as a leader and as a role model to the young boys," Walker said.

"The boys love him as a bloke and he would be good for the job. I am pretty sure it will be him or Nick Stevens.

"You can tell he really wants it, the way he is getting around the club. And he doesn't seem out of place, even though he's only been here 12 weeks."

Well then, if Judd wants the captaincy, I think he's got it sewn up. :-D

Sorry if I'm digressing from the thread a bit. Wasn't sure where I should post it.
