ESPN this morning ran a nice little story on the Blues in South Africa. If I was better at technology, then I would try to post a clip... but I'll leave that for our more technologically savvy posters to chase up. Anyway... the report was about two mins... not heaps to report, but here goes:

- pics were of the boys at a water park and out on an animal safari
- interviews with both Ratts and Chris Judd
- Ratts said the usual things... looking for team building, looking to get a few things in place (didn't say what those things were). We've got to improve, etc.
- Judd: club obviously disappointed with where they finished last year. A lot of optimism in the club, and now is the time to take some steps forward
- a few pics of Matty Lappin... so obviously we've taken the development coaches over
- Murph was sitting next to Ratts on the safari coach... sucking up
:-D
- It seems harder to pick our players this year... Bower fooled me with that haircut!
- and the Pommy reporter made some comments all about the AFL trying to expand the game into South Africa

Bit disappointed in the club not having regular updates on the website. Collingwood has photos up on their site everyday.

I know its not footy season yet, but an update and pics would be nice.

I kinda agree. It shouldn't be too hard to just email a few photos to the CFC's IT dept to upload onto the site. Hopefully we get a few snippets soon. :-D

Hopefully they will have a player diary or something like that. It would be good to have some correspondence.

Anyone would think that The Filth and Freo are the only ones there.

Disappointing that we can't match them for PR.

As I understand it, the media pack alongside the 3 Clubs are to prepare the same number of articles for each Club. Doesn't look like it at the moment.

Well yeh, watched the news last night and they mentioned Collingwood and Freo. They only mentioned Carlton being in Africa when the Walker story came on. The herald sun which I get everyday has all Collingwood and Freo stories. Including Today.

Its crap, we should use the publicity at this time, especially since Carlton does not do this often.

What is going on ? Very Very disappointing.

Fox Sports News only 'African' story last night was on Carlton (most likely same footage as ESPN). Not all bad...

Anthony Rocca is looking fit.

Andrew Walker was the only player not to go? Does that include rookies?

How awesome would that be, an overseas trip only weeks after getting an AFL lifeline.

Anyone watch freo on sports tonight (last night)?

Had to laugh, here are the AFL kidding themselves that they are making a push into Africa, & what do the kids do with the footys?

Start a game of rugby of course

Very funny stuff.

I don't think the AFL realise how popular rugby is there and of course world football.
