Apart from the obvious (Gibbs), which young players do you anticipate will step up in 2008 and make a really significant contribution to the club's fortunes? For me it is Betts, Hampson and possibly Grigg. I also think Bentick might have a good year and prove some of his doubters wrong. Seems to have streamlined his weight/build and worked on his pace by foot, and we already know he is one of the best impact players in the AFL. |

I meant players who haven't shown they are reliable, week-in week-out contributors yet. |

Joey. His intensity will make an impact on the team I reckon. |

I'm thinking murphy and Jamo as the big improvers. |

Austin, Jamo and Grigg I can see rapidly improving in 2008. Austin is the real smokey, ala Rivers a few years back, good early form at the Ants could see him in Navy Blue for a large portion of the season. |

Murphy and Gibbs will become stars in 2008. Walker's improved disposal will see him in the elite category. Betts will no longer have me as a doubter, and I expect him to deliver lots of Farmer type goals...at least 30 of them. I don't think Eddie could ever be arrogant like Farmer though. Jamison to cement the FB position. With the improvement of delivery from modern footballers, I expect a few goals kicked on him, but I expect him to save the day in the main. He'll be our rock. My 'smokeys' in order Aisake...he will make it this year Grigg Russell Jackson Hampson Kreuzer to win the NAB Rising Star Award. |

The way Murph has shaped up physically shows how committed he is to making a show of this thing called footy |

Browne is my pick for making the most significant impact in 2008, not wanting to pressure on him but mark my words this kid is gem and will play seniors straight up. |

Hopefully all of our young goats can step up. I'm really looking forward to watching Jamo, Murphy and Gibbs this year... I know Jamo hasn't played much but everything he does looks classy. ![]() |

It will be great if Jamieson can make a good full back. They are not easy to get nowdays. We have had champion full backs over the years, but not a real full back since SOS left. All the other lines seem to be gradually falling in to place. Funny the comment about Juddy only being 24. We tend forget that. He is such a champion, and relatively young still. . |

I can't wait to see how Setanta goes this year if you don't mind me counting him amongst the youngies still! He is an absolute inspiration to his team mates and to alot of Carlton supporters, and if his skills and footy brain have improved over the off season, I reckon we could be in for some really special footy from him this year. He and Jamo could make a fairly lethal combination up back, with Thonkers (Thornton) adding some cream. It'll make our back line look soo much stronger if those 3 can combine, along with the likes of Gibbs / Stevens sweeping across half back occassionally or in rotation out of the midfield. Rich |

I already think Murphy is quality. Wasn't his fault a second year player had to cop all the best tags last year. |

Just about the whole bloody team. Grigg - Big fan of this kid and am expecting him to grab the attention of AFL supporters this year. Aisakie - probably moreso than anybody else. This kid could well be anything! Edwards - Maybe as CHF, maybe in midfield.... who knows, but i'll have fun finding out. Kreuzer - Expecting him to play maybe 10 games next year and hopefully he gets a good stint at it too (ie:- not sitting on the bench for 3 qtrs |
