We’ve got some pretty good up and coming players which are currently playing in the reserves and/or are struggling to get a regular spot in our starting 22.
Players such as Ando, Austin, Pheiffer, Hammer, Jackson etc
What is the chance of them getting regular senior games soon?
Who would make way for these players to get into the senior side?
What’s the chance of the players moving onto another club where they know they will get a senior game?
Is it a pro or a con?

Defo a pro. We are starting to get a bit of depth, which creates healthy competition for spots in the side. Of the guys playing with the Bullants at the moment:
- Jacko: he works his backside off, but there's obviously a perception that he's not accountable enough + he lacks leg speed + his disposal is suspect. Is up against it to hold his spot on the list IMO;
- Blackwell: smart player but...see Jacko (+undersized);
- Hartlett : big man, big kick, but has struggled to establish himself after three and a half years. Time's fast running out;
- Pfeieffer : not quick, but hard at it. If/when his skills settle down, should be a very handy player for us;
- Hammer: looks to have a big upsize, but is still very raw;
- Benji : may be better suited to the Telstra Dome than Cramer Street...but we'll never find out if he doesn't start showing more at the lower level. Has had rotten luck with injury, but has been disappointing and may recieve the Anthony Raso-treatment;
- Austin : has improved, but will need time;
- Saddo: provides good leadership in the VFL, but I can't see him playing for Carlton again;
- Ackland : gawn;
- Ellard : I'm not as keen on him as some are, but I think he'll get another year on the Rookie list;
- AJ : will be either promoted or kept on the Rookie list;
- Jacobs : last year on the Rookie list, so we need to either promote or de-list him. Given our ruck stocks are thin, I think we'll probably invest another year in him;
- Aisake : Unfortunately it looks like the MC have already made up their mind...will be interesting to see if another club picks him up;
- Hill : haven't seen enough to form an opinion;
- Shields : see Hill
Of the above, I think Hammer, Harts, Austin, Pffeifer and AJ are the ones most likely to get AFL exposure before the year is out. Personally, I'd like to see Jacko get another chance, and I wouldn't mind it if they gave Jacobs a taste.
Ackland, Aisake, Saddo, Benji, Jacko & Blackers (+ maybe Harts) are in the gun I think...
