Post subject: | WOLFISTER'S WEEKLY ONE CENT STATS - Round 7 |
Welcome to the big Round 7 edition of Wolfister's Weekly one cent stats. Round 7 is a very important round - it means that we've now played each of the teams that we play twice this year... hang on... I feel like the big blue office at the bottom end of town might be channelling Captain Obvious... best get on with it! This will be the 195th time we've gone to battle with the Tigers, winning 112 of our 194 clashes (57.7%) at PM+1510. Despite our poor form in recent years, we actually have a respectable record against Richmond winning 3 of our last 5 (which includes our last 3) at PM+1, and 6 of our last 10 at PM+72. Interestingly 12 of our last 14 matches have been at the G, where we've won 8 of them - and all in all we've played them 56 times at the MCG for 23 wins (50%) at PM-163. Round 7 is our 10th most successful round on record, winning 68 of our 109 starts (62.4%) at PM+1221. Once again, in recent times our Round 7 record hasn't been too bad either, winning 3 of our last 5 (PM+63) and 7 of our last 10 (PM+87). We've played Richmond 10 times in Round 7, winning 9 of the 10 starts at PM+313 - the only loss coming in 1945 where we went down by 5 points at Princes Park. We are undefeated against Richmond at the MCG in matches played in Round 7. Being the first match in May, we can take a quick look at our May success rate. We've won 273 of our 460 May starts at PM+2863... thus making May our 4th most successful month on record. Moving onto May the 7th, this will be the 15th time we've played on May 7, winning 11 of our 14 starts (78.6%) at PM+51. We've played Richmond twice on May 7, for two wins - the last being back in 1999 where we won by 20 points at the MCG. This was one of only 2 MCG May 7 starts, the other being the famous "Match of the Century" against Collingwood in 1992, where we spoilt their centenary celebrations with a 33 point win. The 7th of the month is our second most successful day on record, winning 48 of 68 starts (70.59%) at PM+746. Till next week, remember that 79% of all boogie boards contain traces of boogie... Wolf Out. |

Have you got a stat for how many times Richmond have beaten us when we have had a huge, athletic, menacing Irishman with a weird name playing? |
