Happy New Year everyone.

And what a New Year it promises to be, with the best player in the land leading our top pick ladened midfield to the promised land. It's so tangible you can almost feel it....

...and so can fans of other Clubs.

Yesterday, a Richmond fan in the office spent the first 10 minutes of the day telling me about how frustrated he is that Carlton fans wake up each morning to a new story in the press about Chris Judd, about how is lifting the spirits of the club, about how good he is looking and how well progressed he is in his rehab.

Then earlier this morning an email comes through from a WCE fan saying:

'You don't know how p&ssed off I am about all these stories about Judd's recovery'.

Has anyone else noticed a change in the air?

Bleeding, weeping, sooking, moaning, immoral, fetid, humourless, elephantitus suffering opposition supporters. May their clubs rot for eternity and their houses bathed in navy sunshine.

All my opposition team supporting mates, especially the filthy ones are all going "his groin's stuffed - you'll get nothing out of him"...

I keep forgetting to say "so you wouldn't have wanted him if he was wanting to play for you?"

Case closed...

Rich

I got this on the weekend over chat...paraphrased - what he said...

"Hear about Judd and the Caesar Salad? Conolly's a tool!...what's healthy about Caesar Salad? Bacon lardons, fat soaked croutons, anchovies soaked in brine, parmesan cheese, poached egg and oil laden dressing. Yep real healthy! What an example!...Yeah the en masse digestion of Caesar salads instead of pasta isn't necessarily the basis of a vastly improved Carlton in 2008...Maybe they will follow his lead to leave the club that drafted him and follow the money to the highest bidder in a couple of years as well...yeah, nothing to do with money. Gentleman's agreement!!!

As they say, green with envy!

All my friends have actually been very supportive of me, which I find kinda odd and a little bit worrying. Some of them (Hawthorn and Essendon* supporters) actually think we could make the top 4

The best are the card carrying bogans and no-shows from the Filth - who finish every green with envy diatribe against Carlton on SEN or 3AW with "and as for Judd you can have him".

We certainly will.

If Captain Jack and the other "mastabotory morons" stopped long enough they would actually realize there is no bacon in a correctly prepared Caesar Salad.

This morning, 9.30am.

Essendon* fan around the desk, talking about work. "What are you smiling about - is this Judd related?"

I wasn't even smiling.

I like walking up to people and just saying "Judd". There really is no response.

I wonder how they feel waking up every morning knowing that the best they could do for a senior coach is Matthew Knights .... a guy who despite there being several coaching gigs available towards the end of last year, no club even cared to approach let alone interview.. :-D :-D

That's because as a former Tiger, he knew that he was in the Box Seat for the Scum job.

I must say that I have been taking this approach as well, 3 or 4 occasions I have seen people on the street wearing Collingwood caps or shirts and as I walk past I just say "Judd". Priceless.

Also had more than a couple of people comment to me on how there seems to be an article on Carlton every day in the paper...gotta love it!

I have found you have to tell them as well - because if you put it on a placard in big block letters - they would have a problem reading it as "Judd" has more than 3 letters in it.
