Some time ago we wrote an article for carltonfc.com.au about the stories of 5 Blues potentially recruited just because they had played well against us in prior games - Davey, Heaver, Mott and Hickmott had all played big games against Carlton, and found their way to the Blues. A number of other names were suggested as equally - or perhaps more so - fitting that mould, and this is their story: http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-read_artic ... ticleId=44 From the Blueseum ps This was originally to be published in Trade Week but owing to the Judd news has not yet seen the light of day. Hopefully carltonfc.com.au will publish it over the New Years Break |

**Beware - shameless cross-promotion** Good work Beau - I know it took a lot of work to trawl through best players over those players' careers and past games against the Blues to compile that information. Best get was Perovic making the best in 8 out of 9 games against the Blues. |

Some of those 'rejects' became favourite's of mine. Rice Hogg Hickmott Manton I think it says something about the opportunity for a second chance that made these players so desperate and hard working. The first three were among the most courageous players I've ever seen(and that isn't to say Manton wasn't but the others stood out). Hopefully Pfeiffer can carry on the legacy. |
