Quote:
FB Joe Anderson, Paul Bower, Jake Edwards

HB Steven Browne, Mark Austin, Adam Hartlett

C Clint Benjamin, Luke Blackwell, Dennis Armfield

HF Shaun Grigg, Joshua Kennedy, Jordan Russell

FF Anthony Raso, Chris Bryan, Sean Hampson

Foll Matthew Kreuzer, Marc Murphy, Bryce Gibbs

---

apart from the Followers line it doesn't look all that impressive really. the FB line is OK, the Hb line has a bit of potential, the Centre line is not too bad, the HF would have been very promising if JK was still around and the FF line apart from hampson won't do us any good. this team is probably a good indication of the depth we have coming through and just highlights how important it is for 2nd 3rd and 4th rounders to be developed as well as they can coz 3 no.1 picks aren't ging to take you anywhere by themselves.

I think there is still a couple of more seasons too see how good or bad it is for most of those guys,Edwards,Hartlett,Blackwell and to a lesser degree Russell better get their arse into gear next year.

Raso and Bryan are gone with Kennedy while last year recruits,i'll give 2 years more to show more along with Bower and this year, well it usually 3,but on a weak draft i'm not sure except Kreuser.

It early days but most club would think Gibbs and Murphy are good picks so far and to a lesser Jordan Russell and possibly Joe Anderson debuting early.Grigg,Hampson,Bower would be too early to say at this moment and i think Kreuser shouldn't have no problems in the AFL.

Plenty of potential imo Andain.

Glass is half full.

And athletic players with Setanta and Aisake's body shape and size should probably go on till 32-33 yo....maybe even Waite; effectively playing longer than some of the under 21's do.

And... we'll get 2 x 2009 draftees/ trade, 2 x 2010 draftess/ trade and 2 x 2011 draftees/ trade to come on board and place a bit more pressure on that list, when our young players over 21 retire around 2012, such as, Judd, Simpson and Fisher all 23 yo.

We will have completely turned our list by the end of 2008, and it's very refeshing to see a bit of grunt in the young team too.

Yep. Not all of them will make it but you can't help but be exited by the potential of that list. Every position is covered. Every role from small forward to ruckman to rebounding defender is filled and it become clear that theere's a plan in place from those in charge to build a real champion team.

Only one future premiership player amongst that lot.

Our under-21 side would absolutely rip the "last four drafts" side.

There was a thread on young Ben Judd about 2 weeks ago that gave rise to a brief player bio in the Blueseum.
