So is the 8 weeks taken from now or from when Fish originally did his knee? Seems strange that a bloke who was really only 3-4 off returning would be postponed by that much.

Does Carlos only have a 3-4 week window or 8 weeks from now?

kouta and johnson have to start on the ball.

dont know what it is about them - but they seem to destory midfields when they are both on the ball at the same time.

Kouta, Johnson, Stevens and French on the ball

Walker and Campo on the wings.

I really liked scotland playing of the half back last week - i thought he turned a couple of Hawthorn attacks directly around into Carlton Attacks with one kick.

My team for this week as i would like to see it.

Teague - Norman - Sporn
Scotland - Thorton - Lappin
Walker - Stevens - Camporeale (if fit) / Houlahan
Waite - Whitnall - O'Halphin
Betts - Setanta - Longmuir

French, Stevens, Kouta

int - Deluca, Prendagrast, Bannister, Simpson

Its a few weeks from now - not really sure what went on but my take is that we actually made the LTI / promotion some time ago and now time is running out. With that in mind, I think Setanta is a certainty this week - why choose now to announce something that they've known about for a while?

This question occurred to me too MDH27. The Club Update emailed to members says " Setanta is on the senior list until Brad Fisher returns from injury, which is expected to be in late May."

My guess is that the rules must allow for elevation of a rookie at anytime during the course of another players LTI providing the LTI lasts 8 weeks or more.

If Setanta gets a gig and plays a few good games he would still have to return to rookie list unless we suffer another LTI. This happened to Peverill at the Bombers a couple of years ago. He was elevated ( i think for Hird) was in Essendons best for weeks but then had to revert to rookie status when Hird recovered.

Yep makes sense - also explains the confusion a few weeks ago when Fish miraculously appeared on the LTI list.

Reckon you are right though Mosely, why name him you you arent going to play him? Surely Dennis learnt his lesson from last year. Only way to be sure, get down to Punt Road Oval at 11!

I hope if Setanta plays that he is actually ready to play and we don't and he don't get embarrased. Not sure that is the case and therefore I am very apprehensive about all this.

Have faith in the Irishman.

In any case keep it all in perspective and think back to how Jim Stynes, Sean Wight and Tadhg Kenelly played in their first games.

If Setanta gets on the park he should be considered a success, if he gets a kick it should be considered a great game, if he gets a goal he should be a NRS :P , but when he plays 200 games then he may be considered for Carlton's Greatest Team of the 21st Century.

He is no more unready that nay kid about to play his first game except that he is big, fast and already a proven competitor at the highest level.

He will be fine - Shit I hope they play him!

Carlton has a policy of 9 months rehab minimum for Knee reco's.
Fish is absolutely flying and bursting at the seams.
His 9 months expires in a couple of weeks but the Bullants will have a bye.
He will return the following week against Willy.

Apparently he is nervous but dying to get out there.
He has been doing full contact training for 2 weeks now.
He's put on about 6kg from last year and feels stronger and bigger.

I'm sure we're all looking forward to him getting back out there and showing his stuff in a couple of weeks.

BTW, good luck on Saturday PJ, show em how its done.
