I would like to see Nick stevens get the nod I feel he should have recieved it last year before he went out on injury. But i have a feeling that Chris Judd will be asked to be captain for obvious reasons cheers OZ |

I expected Stevens to get the job but if he wants it he might have turned up to pre-season with a few less kg around the girth. |

Have heard from a source inside the club that they're surprised at just how fat Stevo is. Judd is surely favourite. |

time to draw a line in the sand and hail a new beginging I think Judd is the man for the job. I too have heard that the club is not too pleased at stevens conditioning at this point in time also. |

Judd should not be given the captaincy...yet. He has said publicly that he just wants to concentrate on his footy, and i think we should respect that. Stevens should be given the go ahead with some good deputy choices to back him up, should his neck not be right. People should not be suprised at how much weight Stevens has put on. When you have an injury like his you don't get to move around too much, It's impossible to keep fit.... Just sitting around, slow movements, and plenty of frustration. |

I think this is about the 4th - 'who do you want to see as captain?' thread in which I have posted. I'll therefore answer for the fourth time that Judd should get the job, and I expect that he will get the job. It's almost a no-brainer. If they have a meltdown in the MC though and offer it to someone else then it should be Simmo. Those advocating Stevens should read some of Dr Sherrin's informed posts on the likelihood of a successful comeback from the type of injury he has had. |

Common sense points to Judd. I would like to see Judd get the nod. He will be a Blue for life. ![]() |

MURPHY! Give it to him now. Let him be our longest serving captain since Braddley. Have Stevens / Judd / Simmo as vice captains. |

Cant be Judd... "Judd has to prove himself"............. Of course it will be Judd!!! The playing group as a whole wants him to be.. and if his peers wish him to be he has no problem doing it.... Judd(c) |

Judd(c) That is great to hear if true, Synners. I would love for Judd to captain the club. My only worry was that he wouldn't want the captaincy in his first year at the club (even if the playing group endorses him). But that is really good news if he is prepared to take it on if asked to take it on. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Makes sense to me. Can't think of anyone more qualified to take on the role. |

The BEST person should get the job, and that is Judd. Why would you overlook the best midfielder in the competition, who is flawless in his character, who has won a Brownlow and a Premiership? Why would you overlook someone like this for another good midfielder who has been at the club a bit longer (but who also came from another club originally) and whom has had a few little issues in the past? |

IMHO the new Carlton doesn't need superstar captains, it needs good ones .... and a good candidate is Simmo he clearly showed that he valued the opportunity to be acting captain, he showed respect for the honour and willingness to lead by example he may not be the most talented player but I think he has spirit, ambition and maturity to become a great captain IMHO |
