Where would you play Waite? Four options... 1. Forward 2. Down Back 3. Midfield/Wing/On-Ball 4. Mr Fix It - Horses for Courses |

Wing, changing with Houlihan at half forward for mine. |

Oooohhhhh. Good question. I'd like to see Setanta and Waite rotated at CHF & CHB. See which one feels more comfotable and where! Tough thou. I thought Waite looked good along the flanks too. |

I believe Waite is our best option at CHB and CHF in 2008. If others could fill the CHB and CHF KP's then Waite as a wing-HF would be a really hard match up...and imo implies we have a team (with depth and a strong spine) ready to take on anyone in the next couple of years. I like the role Waite plays at CHF. His athleticism and stamina allow him to roam and present up the wing, flanks, and then rotate with Fisher to become really dangerous in the FF line (as we have seen with his 2nd half 5 goal haul when captain). What this does is open the path for Fevola to lead right up the guts, and as we all know he can dob them from outside 50. IMO Fevola and Waite as the forward talls, are a more dangerous prospect than Lance and Hamill in 1999. So hopefully Setanta and Jamo can hold the 2 backline KP's and Waite at CHF for mine in 2008. |

i like him forward. if i were coach i'd stop throwing them around the field like pagan did, and put them in a position and let them get settled, and leave JW forward |

Forward only, maybe on a flank. Or what about a two-pronged CHF attack alongside Fisher. Keep the space behind them free for Fev to wreak havoc!!! ![]() |

CHB and switch hit at HFF when matchups allow. |

With Kennedy going, I think I'd play Waite forward. Along with Fev, Fish and Kreuzer. He's good down back, but it may limit development time for the younger tall defenders in Setanta, Jamison, Bower and Austin. |

It would vary depending on the required matchups. Against teams with athletic key forwards (Riewoldt and co) he would go into defense. Otherwise I'd play him rotating with Fisher up around CHF and down into FF. |

It depends on match ups. If a team has a small backline then play him forward. If a team has a tall forward line then play him in the backline. Very handy to have such a player that can go back or forward. This will be the year of JW I believe. What are his odds for the Brownlow? |

Forward....not enough grunt to play KPP for mine but as a third tall I think he is suited to that role..... Doesnt concentrate well enough to play down back and some of his tackling is half hearted and he lacks intensity... |

Doesnt concentrate well enough to play down back and some of his tackling is half hearted and he lacks intensity... Hmm... not sure about that Elwood. I tend to think manning him up on one of the oppositions key forwards would keep him more focused on the job at hand more than anything. I get the feeling Waitey's a proud sort of a bloke who would hate being towelled up and therefore raise his intensity, which, I think he has lacked early on in his career in his forward roles. IMO, he has bludged at times when played forward. Looked very good at times down back last year. Got beaten a few times through inexperience more than anything else I reckon. |

It is a no brainer. He must play CHF. He is a handful as a forward and isnt quite there as a backman. We don't need to run experiments anymore. Been down that track for 4 years. The guy is 25 both he and the club need to produce. |

Keep the space behind them free for Fev to wreak havoc!!! ![]() Unless we have someone around 195cm and about 100kg to be a pack splitter at the key CHF position - then I think this is the next best option. ![]() I'm kind of hoping that Adam Hartlett can take on this role - but his track record in terms of staying on the park over the past few years needs to improve. |

Train him to play the swingman role, ala Hunter from the Eagles, on 2nd or 3rd tall forward in defence and forward if mismatches or when tactics dictate |

Everyone says Waite's inconsistent, but they want him to play Defence and Forward. It's pretty difficult to change those 2 positions, especially during a match. He should either play forward or back; personally, I think he belongs in the forward line. |

CHF unless we run out of options at CHB/Wing, etc. He's the best candidate on the team currently, followed by Cloke, then Ackland or Hartlett. ![]() |

I want him to become an Embly type player A wingman that floats forward, and who can become a target He has most of the attributes, except for his fitness levels Hopefully he gets a very good pre season |
