Usually I think that most players would look good in the navy blue. The jumper was so embarrassed to be on Johnson that it looks like it is trying to crawl off him ( a bit like Spiderman's black costume)

I do agree with the message of the ad however

Speaking out against violence towards women is an excellent program, but the ad is crap. This is an ad where a bunch of creatives got a germ of an idea, and then tried to make it work.

The problem is it fails to get the message accross.

A significant percentage of men wouldn't realise who is speaking, so the fact that he's wearing a Carlton jumper loses relevance. In order to make an impact, it should've been James Hird or Nathan Buckley, who are immediately identifiable. The fact they've recently retired is irrelevant.

Presumably the ad is being shown throughout the AFL states (there is an NRL equivalent), so I wonder how many South Australian or Western Australian men recognise Jason Johnson?

Love the cause, but back to the drawing board for the creatives.

I think the ad is fine although I look better in a Carlton jumper. I think I would with an extra 20 kilos too. Is his an XXL size? Looks quite odd

My kids Auskick is in an Essendon* zone :evil: :evil:

This year we had the normal Sunday session replaced by a Saturday because it suited the Bombers best. They were supposed to send 3 players to a clinic. I work Saturdays which is why I picked a cinic with Sunday sessions, so my kids missed it. The Bummers then cancelled, showing the classy organisation they are. Get the kids and parents to change their schedule to suit you then shaft them.

They promised a make-up clinic. Only Jason Johnson showed up. He gave his time up for the kids, didnt waaste time eating and drinking even though it was a sausage sizzle day. He did skills session with all the age groups then a Q&A with the prep class which was very funny.

Point being, he's not the Bummer I hate the most

Firstly, I think that for the demographic the ad is targeting - it is quite a good ad. Maybe nation-wide it isn't (unless there is an NRL equivelant). But the fact that not everybody would identify Johnson is inconsequential, as he states that he is an Essendon* player at the start.

Domestic violence is an issue that goes by largely unnoticed in society, so anything like this is a positive.
