Jason McCartney did not accept the role as a development coach.

I'm sure there will be plenty interested in the role :-D

Well I guess if his heart isn't 110% in it then he has made the right decision.

As they say.....one door slams shut and another door opens.....for someone else.

In the time this has taken to happen Peter Dean joined the Bulldogs' coaching panel, that's one person a lot of people around here would have supported for the job. And also Hickmont went to Essendon* for the Bendigo job. I guess Bob might try to poach someone or maybe we'll ask Nathan :?:

Perhaps it could pave the way for a Buckley?

I'm pretty sure development coaches are lower on the pecking order (at least in impression) than assistant coaches.

I'm only guessing, but I would be pretty sure that Buckley would not enter the coaching game at anything less than an assistant coaching position.

Heady - leave the poor taste to those of us who can do it a whole lot better, like Deano and I. :P

But certainly he has dicked us around - you dont go making Media Releases and Website Announcements on an appointment unless you have said yes.

To change your mind after making the announcement is quite odd - better we find someone 100% in their committment.

I'm not particularly disappointed. Seems like a good bloke etc who has been through persoanl trauma etc., but never struck me as the sharpest tool in the shed. I think you need someone with a bit of spark and personality to be a development coach. A lot of it is connecting to a wide range of personalities. I think we can do better, and to take the job then turn it down within a few weeks indicates he probably wasn't the right person for the job. That reminds me, is Braddles still on the coaching panel?

agree. they got to find the best person for the job, a former player who is respected, inspirational and has determination and passion. Not a former player unless he has those skills.

Phew, we just keep landing on our feet lately. Even when we screw up, it all falls back into place.

Yes. And so long as Ratts keep getting a say, I expect Bradley will stay on the coaching panel.
