I'd be more worried if he DIDN'T come out and say he wanted 43. Shows the kid is willing to take the bull by the horns, which we need more of with this team. Demand the ball, demand to be noticed. Good on him.

He called it not long after the "retirement" was announced

I reckon give it to him

And give 10 to Hadley

As for the 11 .. we should be so lucky!

Give it to him. If Carlton has a year of good fortune and combines this with things that give the players a steely desire to succed - the results willbe interesting - So take a chance - and Give Aisake that number...

Give it to him. If Carlton has a year of good fortune and combines this with things that give the players a steely desire to succeed - the results to say the least, will be most interesting - So take a chance - and Give Aisake that number...

What matters most in 2008 is a fresh, no limits kind of attitude, a sense of a new beginning, developing that self belief that Carlton had, but in a new young team.

If getting no 43 for a player like Aisake is the motivating factor which makes this happen for him, then give him that jumper...

I think 10 should be retired.

Has been nothing but a bad curse for several years now.

I reckon the jumper numbers will go like this...

Judd - 5
Kreuzer - 8
Hadley - 15

he can have the 43 in 2009. It will be retired for a year as all premiership players guernseys are.

I hate this practice or having sacred numbers. Sacred numbers are for shit clubs like st kilda who have no real tradition.

I doesn't matter if you wear 5, 15, 25 or 50 you make your own legend

sacred numbers are a bit silly. if we held them so dear, then we would've retired #43 after David McKay won three (four?) premierships in it.

But yes - clearly the #10 is cursed. If we give it to Judd or Kruezer, it could either break the curse or turn them into complete hacks.

Best not risk it. Retire the 10.

No need to retire the jumper is Kouta says it's ok to hand it over to Aisake. I can see him with 43 actually. Probably because he already had a high number.
