Sorry if this is in the wrong part of TC but the AFL have got a list of the best draft picks (from picks 51-100) as judged by Matt Burgan. http://www.afl.com.au/Default.aspx?tabi ... wsId=52863 Lots of good players listed but I was fascinated by the listing of Blueboy Michael James. His stats are impressive (21 possies a game) but he only played the one year. http://www.blueseum.org/cfc/tiki-index. ... hael+James Anyone know much about him and why he didn't play more games for the Blues? |

Always seemed a bit small and slow to me, from memory. Could be wrong though. |

It was disappointing to see MIchael James not go on with it. He was an "old fashioned" centreman. A real accumulator of possessions and had sensational hands in close. From memory, he had a heap of injuries in his second year and went missing from there. As Deano mentioned, he was very slow and looked more like a schoolboy than a footballer. |

Quote: 99 – JEFF HILTON (MELBOURNE)
Recruited from: St Kilda (1992) Originally from Dromana, Hilton played six matches for St Kilda from 1991-92 before he was Melbourne's seventh selection in the 1992 AFL Draft. He debuted for the Demons in 1994 and in three seasons played 43 matches, including 38 in 1994-95, predominantly as a half-forward. Irishman Dermott McNicholl was also taken at this number in 1988, playing three matches for St Kilda in 1990. He used to bash me up at High School. ![]() |

What number did Fisher go? #72? He would be a massive chance to get a gig. |

Michael James was another Mickey special. He had the most important skilll in football. That underated skill of finding the footy.Michael James really knew how to get his hands on the aggot.A real ball magnet.I thought Michael would really go on with it and forge a great career with us.I reckon he had what it took............afraid injuries and what not derailed what was a promising future in Navy Blue............what might have been ! |

Had trouble remembering him If he had been anywhere near the footballer his father was, he would have made it. Often happens to sons of champions. Johnny james was one of our best. . |

Graham Teasdale used to love picking me up and putting me in rubbish bins at school. |

I remember him. played in an ordinary team so was a bright prospect for the future. As has been said, accumulated the ball well. I suppose Williams arriving in 1992, the development of Ratten and Brown meant he wasnt required |
