I hate feeling nervous before playing the paper tigers - it just feels wrong

We've got the goods to cover one, maybe two of Richo, Stafford or Simmonds. We cannot let their midfield get a sniff or their forward line will absolutely smoke us I reckon.

Bingo.

agree

we win the midfield battle, which i think we are more than capable off, we will win this game, but stopping at least 2 of their targets in defence is going to be crucial as well.

French, Kouta, Johnson and Stevens must start on the ball and say on it for most of the game.

Bannister on Brown
T-Bird on Richardson

If we can win the midfield and banno and t-bird can win their match ups ti will go along way to winning the game

They are pretty weak in defence which makes Brendan's absence all the more irritating.

Agree with others that the talls in their forward line are going to trouble us.

Yes they did steal Knobel from us however we took Betts with our pick, despite needing talls I'll take Betts.

Love it when the AFL try to screw us and we screw them. Barney's form this year has made Knobel not needed.

You must be up getting a beer from the fridge when we get smashed every time DeLuca goes into the ruck.

You reckon we could play Barney, De Luca and Knobel all in the same team?

T-Bird to play on Richo, Bannister to tag Brown, Teague on Simmonds, De Luca on Stafford, Bryan to play as key forward and relief Ruckman.

I think Denis has the goods to get us up for the match.

Does Eddie = Eddie Betts?

for the ins i would follow the form of the two's i.e looks like Bentick in as well as Mcgrath and Prenda (for the three out injured)

only option for Richo is T Bird.....fall back maybe Prenda. And yes, we may see Archie back in defence on Stafford.

I'd let Bannister give Brown a little box around the ears

try out simpson in the BP to replace carrots.

We should win comfortably. Agree their talls could be a worry, but our midfield should be able to stop the supply going forward. i am confident Kouta/Stevens/Jonno/Scotland will beat their midfielders of Johnson/coghlan etc. In fact after those two, they dont have much else in the middle. Waite wil need to fire again as they have no-one who can go with him.

I think our midfield is ready to explode, i mean really explode and show the true potential that we are capable. If we can smash them there, Richo will not be so much of a worry. 8 day break should allow some sore tired bodies to get ready for this make or break game.

OUT: the 3 injuries + Longmuir (omitted)

I've only got Morrell in there due to our lack of tall defenders. Very disappointed in the reports that Norman seems to have lost his way again!

Would love to see Simmo given a go in the back half but Denis will probably give Carrazzo's spot to McGrath first.

I am just hoping everyone is fired up. Playing the Tiges is always a big one for Carlton fans who have long memories. Even just recently - the 2001 final - leaves a sour taste in my mouth with the memory of Kouta's injury in that match against Richmond.

22 fired up aggressive Carlton players should be a match for any team...
but saying that ... Iwould like to see Davies and McGrath back in the team.

I think it'd be ridiculous to promote Davies and drop Longmuir, Longmuir should be helpful in stretching the Richmond defence. No rain is predicted though

Agree on that comment Fevolaaaa.

Longmuir won't be dropped.
Davies, Prender and probably Bryan will come in.
Wouldn't mind seeing Davies in a back pocket.

That'd be interesting. Maybe a job is what he needs to fire him up a bit.

Who would he pick up? Krakouer maybe? Reckon scumbag Brown would have a field day on him...

Don't know the tigers that well, but doesn't he play more of a wing/flank role?

Not sure who we have to match pace with Krakour. Bowyer was playing that BP role before Carrazzo, but he's slow....Where's Frankie when you need him?

See I don't think he is.
Don't think Davies will get the job on him.
Perhaps a first up job for Kade?
