Firstly, I am not in any way comparing Josh Kennedy to Hamill. But, lets face it, football is now a business. And we as a club were prepared to let Kennedy go to get Judd. And I wholeheartedly supported that. And would have been (perhaps unjustifiably) angry had Kennedy decided to stay. And I think alot of other supporters would have as well. As supporters we put a better player than Kennedy ahead of him. We put someone who had never played in Navy Blue ahead of someone who moved interstate as an 18 year old, gave his all to the club, loved the club, and really wanted to stay. Yes, Hamill put dollars ahead of the club. But isn't it slightly similar? He put his own personal benefits ahead of the benefit and welfare of the club that gave him his start, that raised him, and trained him. I am still angry at Hamill for leaving, and think he is a traitor. But I can understand his motivation a bit more now. |

Well, we are basically kissing Judd's feet who, had he been at Carlton and done the same thing to us we'd be spewing hatred towards him. I don't buy into the hatred towards Hamill or Campo..it's a load of inconsistent supporter rubbish. At the end of the day they are human beings who made a decision. So be it and good luck to them. |

I don't know how many times we have to go through this before people get it into their heads. Judd is returning to his hometown. He's been honest about that from the beginning. Hamill pissed off from the club who gave him a shot at the big time for nothing more than dollars. He lied repeatedly and hid behind a thin story of being offended at something big Jack said. Therefore and thus: Hamill is mercenary scum, Judd isn't. END OF STORY |

Hamill was one of my favourite players. HIS decision to leave left me bitter and personally it was a let down that as a fan my passion and support of that player was not valued by him. I felt like I was a victim of 'puppy love'...and I aint no softcock. True, they're only human and they had their reasons. BUT it is our duty to make players think twice of the cost of dessertion, and especially so in times of need. It is our duty as supporters to love them to death as our own, but to also deter others to follow the steps of the deserters, and hence we should treat them with disdain in tribal solidarity. Hamill did have second thoughts once he played against us the first time, and the negative response he received from Carltonians, so effective it was on that day at Princes Park ...it was appropriate and sent a message to all potential deserters. Even today, it is difficult to fully embrace, (with a type of 'puppy love' passionate parochialism as deity) Thornton and Russell after they had chosen to leave us in a time of need. Fair enough it's their rightful decision, and they have to look after themselves first, but they would have known what the cost was going to be in choosing to be loyal to themselves but disloyal to Carlton and Carlton supporters; that's our decision, and we're also allowed to be human in our response. What else would you expect? Hamill knew it was coming, Campo knew it was coming...now Judd will cop it. It's also part of human nature. My only wish when Hamill left was that he didn't hold a premiership cup in front of the parasitic media and have that (salt) rubbed in my face (wound). Now it's done and dusted, he's just an ex Carlton player, who didn't win a flag for us (when he should have in 99), didn't win a B&F with us, didn't win a Brownlow, didn't play 100 games for anyone, hasn't got his name on a locker, and he's gone. What has he achieved? Nothing, except his pocket is full of mercenary dollars. Outa site, outa mind....gone...a nothing...a mercenery who was prepared to pay the cost. Hamill is dead, as my feelings for him are. Thank god my nightmare is over. Less hatred for Hamill? Whose Hamill? Long live Carlton!! |

i'm still hurting over hamill leaving. he was like a god to me at the time. and i was still relaitvley young. it was the beginning of the end for us. he idolised the club and got picked out of now where and the spirit and passion he showed while in the navy blue summed up why we all loved him. then he [REDACTED] off for more money. i actually think he's pretty smart in a business sence, he could see the writing on the wall at the blues, knew his body only had so long left in it and managed to screw 8 years worth of decent coin out of the saints. they even made him capatin for a year and he got to play finals so he was smart - but it cut so deep when he left that it's still an open wound. sure i have double standards but thats what following a club with passion and pride is all about. you're either true blue (and JK clearly is) or your dead to me. |

Following footy is all about irrational emotional excess. If it was all about calculated mature reflection and intelligent discourse we'd all be on a message board somewhere talking about chess players. I hate Judas (Hammil) and Hate Judas 2 (Campo). I love C. Judd but if he ever did a Hamill on us, regardless of the underlying reasons, I'd hate him too!! The only way to leave the club is either to get too old and injured to go on (Kouta and Skinny) or to be ontraded against your wishes for the betterment of the club (JK). Anything sesnible or rational or mature or reasonable does not apply. This is footy FFS! |

No..................... I have never had ill feelings towards Hamill. That was a bad time in Calrton's history. Who knows what went on behind closed doors, away from the football field. I know that when he left, he still had alot of contact with Carlton players. He remained, and still does, very good friends with them. Feel sorry for Hamill that he couldn't get his body right! |

A lot of players around that time had issues with Big Jack 9and who could blame them)... Still, no excuse to turn your back on the club that made you and go chasing the almighty $$$ across town.. Judd was a different situation, he made a life decision to move home , and we took advantage of that. |
