Well, I guess that's (sort of) understandable, but a strange decision given the "blockbuster" rivalry of Carlton/Richmond matches.

Its a shame but you can understand Geelong v St.Kilda would be a better game skill wise compared to Richmond/Carlton..

Its live on Fox Footy for those people who have it... but I reckon there would be 60-70,000 at the G anyway...

Reckon for anyone in melb you can just get along to the game and don't need FTA

We'll have FTA the following week on the Friday v Geelong, and probably the week after again for the last game at Optus.

Great point.

Get our numbers up, you Melburnians! Force the AFL's hand re: blockbuster status.

True, but what if it had been Collingwood v Richmond or Essendon* v Richmond, both of whom are currently worse than Carlton. I will bet my bottom dollar the Cats/Saints game would have been be shunted to Foxtel. I will also predict that the Optus Oval farewell game will be shunted to Foxtel as Collingwood are also playing on this day. (Against West Coast). On a side note, I dont have access to the history of the TV coverage since 2002 but would I be right in saying that every single Collingwood game has been on FTA, and all of Essendons bar one. I remember that one as it was the game Hird got his face rearranged over in Perth

That will change next week. Freo-Coll game is on Fox. Is that the first time they've ever had a game on Fox?

I was thinking the same thing BlueWorld.

I am pretty certain that next week is the first time that Collingwood will be live on Fox Footy and not FTA. It really is ridiculous.

Might happen the next week too, as Essendon* and Collingwood both play at the same time on the same day but with Collingwood playing Richmond and Essendon* playing Freo you'd have to think that the Pies will be on FTA.

If we don't get that one FTA, I will kill something. I would assume that I won't be alone.

Yeah, come on, everyone show up. I am coming all the way from Japan for that one! Can't wait to see my Blueys again!
