First of all, congratulations to Kade on his efforts last night.
With the limited game time he recieved, I thought he applied himself well and looked to get better as the game was winding down.

Now, onto the point of this thread.

With Carrots and Callum out for the next 4 weeks, I think this is the perfect opportunity for Pagan to give Kade a run in either of the two positions left vacant by Callum and Carrots - that being the wing and back pocket.

I honestly believe with his pace and skill, Kade could be a valuable asset to our backline and could easily play the role that Lappin has been assigned to ever since Pagan came to Carlton. And this week would be the best time to do it as there is a fair chance he would line up on Andrew Krakouer. The VFL regs on here have mentioned that he is particularly damaging off of a half back in the VFL, so I couldn't see why it wouldn't work in the AFL. Granted it's a different level of competition, but you get the picture.

Could easily do the job on the wing, too. Floated around half forward last night and picked up a few posessions here and there, but I'd like to see him play in a position he has played in before and that he is suited to. With his sublime skills, I can see him being quite valuable with his delivery into the forward line.

Thankfully the handball to the Hawthorn player who goaled didn't spoil his night and he showed that he does have a future if we works hard enough(and put on a shitload of weight). At least Denis is not taking the easy route and playing David Clarke at the expense of the future.

Yes, definitely, but I wouldn't put him on an opportunist who sits close to goal. I haven't seen Richmond this year, but assuming Krakouer does the same stuff he has in the past, I wouldn't put him on Krakouer.

I'd get him to tag Mr Most-Overated-Midfielder-Ever... oh, sorry, I think his actual surname is Tivendale.

They should get Simmo around defensive 50. Maybe he can tag Tambling!

Pagan continues to give him opportunities but he has to grasp them.
He has plenty of positives with reasonable pace and disposal but lack of intensity lets him down at times.
The handball which Miller sharked is an unfortunate issue which could have happened to anyone.
But his attempted smother a few minutes later was insipid.
If Wiggo was in the same situation he would have taken the blokes leg with him but Simmo shut his eyes and threw his arms out as a token gesture.
Thats why he gets dragged and so he should until he gets the message.

A bloke with Simmo's skill running around in the VFL should be ready to kill when he gets the opportunity.
If he doesnt make it, he only has himself to blame.

Last night was a triumph to the hard men of our side.
The players who stick their nose over the ball.
In the last quarter, Scotland won nearly every contest he was involved in and never took his eyes off the ball.
He is the only bloke in our side who nails a tackle every time.
To Scotland, Wiggo, Barney, Teague, Johnson and Waite, you led the way.

Honourary mention to Walker who displayed the intensity he hasnt shown before. Great effort.

yep .. thought scotland's efforts were fantastic running off half back last night .. looked very "zippy", 2 weeks off helped him out !
his rebound helped turn the game ..

good to see some of the hard tackling return .. it doesnt take much to put off your opponent and change the path of the ball

tho was very disappointed with wiggo's disposal .. apart from the fanstastic left foot pass to lance in the last, every other possession seemed to be a turnover .. just not good enough !

we really need to improve our skills .. good skills win games .. and that includes goalkicking

the afl footy record on friday night stated that Kade Simpson is 182cm
and 77kg. He is only 1 kg lighter than Matty Lappin.

I think Simmo could probably put on maybe 3kgs of muscle in his arms
if anything. He wouldn't want to bulk up too much cos then you
start with the injuries because of the weight.

Yes he could has pace and a raking left foot when he gets the confidence to use his pace he will be a valuable player for the Blues


With injury comes opportunity lets hope Kade takes it

He's got an engine like a 71 XY Ford (like on the Gilchrist ad)...needs 10 minutes to warm up....Johnno is the same
