Has anyone else had the misfortune of reading what is possibly the worst ever piece of AFL sports journalism that is the above mentioned article? Here are some quotes from Jennifer Witham's article. Season in a nutshell:Ordinary. The club sacked the coach midseason, finished on the bottom of the ladder for the third year running, What went wrong: "In short, they finished on the bottom," steady middle-tier players (Judd, Carrazzo, Fevola, Waite, Fisher) The coach(es): Ratten was handed one of the toughest gigs in football with six rounds to play. He was initially appointed as a caretaker coach and consequently found himself in the unenviable position of trying to show off his abilities as a coaching prospect while knowing a win would mean the loss of precious draft picks. He handled himself admirably when put in front of the media and was forced to deflect suggestions of tanking. Judd a middle-tier player! ![]() ![]() ![]() Very classy piece of investigative journalism there Jennifer. ![]() May I suggest that you know your facts before you write next time? Both the author and the editor should be sacked for that piece of mediocrity. |

That one could be passed off as a typo. The thing with Witham's article is that it is repeatedly incorrect and written in a very negative tone based on the "fact" that we came last for the third year in a row, etc. Also a very negative tone to the paragraph on Ratts as a coach. Very poor article IMHO. |
