The only downside to Juddy's arrival is that I wish we could draft players of similar quality rather than always getting them from other clubs. Yeah I know he is the best going round, but by similar I am including Pav, Kerr, Goodes, Black etc
,
I know we go on and on about the draft and in 4 years the AA side should be full of young Carlton draftees. But it is sobering to note how few Carlton draftees have been AA. The Cats had six genuine draftees in this years side (plus a trade and 2 f/s). Are Sexton, McKay, Campo and Fev the only draftees we have had in the AA since drafting started? We've had plenty of reps but they were either zone players Ratts Kouta etc, F/S Whit and SOS, or trades and interstate signings. That's probably a fair summation of our drafting success. The number of draftees that get an AA jumper over the next 4 years will give us a bit of an indication of how successful our drafting has been in the Hughes era.

Still we'll have at least one Carlton player in the AA side next year.

Who's to say we haven't got them just waiting though.

It's conceivable that in the next 5 years we could have Murphy, Gibbs, Kreuzer ...

oh and Kennedy for AA CHF in 2009.
