Good luck to him!
After he was over looked for the Carlton gig (which he was never in the running for) he was always going to leave!

Have respect for Libba for his 'extra' work with Eddie but it's definately time for a fresh coaching panel IMO.

Good luck to you in the future, Libba, but piss off and don't come back.

Well, I suppose we should thank him for his efforts but I still reckon his failure to answer my question at the NSW Supporters' function was poor.

He was pathetic at that function - especially in relation to comments about Grigg!! Good riddance I say

I thought I was being pretty nice, actually

I wish him well for his future, but I'm not going to thank him for his services, as I don't believe he added anything in his time at the Club.

The Age: Uncertainty drives Blues assistant out

Love this bit:
Quote:
He said the Blues "weren't too sure about" whether his contract would be renewed.

"In some ways, it was a mutual decision, but ultimately, my idea was to move on anyway," he said.

"Brett hadn't really worked out his coaching staff as of yet, that's what he said to me, so I thought it's probably time to move on."

Yep, like it was your decision, Libba, and you weren't just about to be dropkicked into next week.....

Libba communicated to our young kids like they were still in grade in 3.
Yelling, screaming and carrying on like a pork chop.
Thank god he has moved on. Mark Riley on the other hand is a great get

Dear Libba,

Thank you for all your hardworking efforts to improve the club,
Sleepless nights I'm sure.

Thank you for teaching our kids to tackle,
The results are obvious.

Thank you for bringing our team a hard edge,
Have you ever met harder players than Ryan Houlihan and Heath Scotland?

Thank you for bringing us the winning culture you experienced throughout your playing career,
The results speak for themselves.

Thank you for all your encouragement, all the great knowledge about the game that you imparted to the kids, and for being such a shining presence on the training track,
Garden gnomes are so underrated these days.

So thank you Libba, you've been the light that gloomed our way forward.

Surprised that he applied for senior coach positions. Have not been impressed by his work with the mid-field.

Definitely needed to move on as part of the upskilling of our coaching department.

I;m happy he's on his way, but I didn't know that Libba was the subject of such derision amongst Blubaggers and TCers.

Can somone list a few of the reasons for these sentiments?

Don't get me wrong, it's good to see the back of him, but I'm just interested in the specifics.

The Age article also mentions that Shaun Rhen has moved on from the Lions. He might be a reasonable option for a ruck / assistant coach.

Can't attest to his coaching abilities, but he's a shit bloke.

I vividly remember the incident at an after work function in Taxi/Transport. Whilst in the midst of my accompanying hotties, I sincereley congratulated him (completely coherent) on a good 2004 season (we were 10th and on the up!) with a genuine smile on my face and offered him a drink. Literally, his words were "f$%k off," I responded with a soft concerned "calm down I'm just thanking you mate," and tapped his shoulder. He knocked my hand away and said "don't f#$$%*# touch me." I was totally shocked, as were the girls. I can understand tweakers annoying players and the like, but I have utmost respect for my club and it's serviceman, and was geniune in my approach.

So for not imparting your off-field hardness to our young list, and your services as an ambassador of the club in a Carlton polo whilst in public...

Nah I won't say it.
